This role is critical for ensuring the efficient and reliable transmission of data in advanced satellite communication networks. You will leverage your deep expertise in algorithm design, wireless communication theory, and signal processing to create innovative solutions that meet rigorous performance standards.\n\nThis position will report to the Sr. Director of Product and System Integration, Silicon, and will work closely with systems, software, hardware, and test teams responsible for delivering the communications payload. This position is based in our Saratoga, CA office.\n\nWhat you will be doing:\n\nAlgorithm Design and Development:\n\nLead the design and development of advanced algorithms for wireless communication systems specially on beamforming and time and frequency synchronizations\n\nDevelop and implement algorithms for modulation, coding, synchronization, channel estimation, and beamforming\n\nPerform simulations and analyses to evaluate the performance of the designed algorithms\n\nSystem Integration and Testing:\n\nCollaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate the designed algorithms into the overall communication system for silicon development\n\nDevelop and execute test plans to validate algorithm performance on FPGA and ASIC under various conditions\n\nAnalyze test data to identify performance bottlenecks and refine algorithms as needed\n\nPerformance Optimization:\n\nOptimize algorithms to meet or exceed specified performance requirements\n\nImplement techniques to mitigate the impact of physical layer impairments\n\nContinuously improve algorithms based on the latest advancements in wireless communication and signal processing\n\nDocumentation and Reporting:\n\nDocument all design, development, and testing processes, including test results and performance evaluations\n\nPrepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders\n\nStay updated with the latest advancements in wireless communication technologies and incorporate relevant innovations into the design process\n\nCollaboration and Support:\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including system architects, hardware engineers, and software developers\n\nProvide technical support and expertise during system integration and field trials\n\nParticipate in design reviews, code reviews, and provide constructive feedback\n\nWhat you bring to this role:\n\nMaster’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field\n\n10+ years of experience in algorithm design and wireless communication systems\n\nStrong background in communication theory, digital signal processing, and wireless communication systems.\n\nProficiency in simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB, SystemC, Simulink, or equivalent\n\nExperience in designing and developing algorithms for wireless communication systems, including beamforming\n\nFamiliarity with satellite communication systems, particularly LEO networks\n\nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment\n\nStrong analytical and communication skills. Team player.\n\nBonus points for the following:\n\nStrong knowledge of 3GPP standards, preferably 5GNR\n\nExperience with hardware implementation and testing of communication systems\n\nFamiliarity with software-defined radio (SDR) platforms and tools\n\nStrong programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Python, or VHDL/Verilog\n\nThis is a full time, exempt position, based out of our Saratoga office. The target base pay for this position is $100,000 - $200,000 annually.
