Sales & Operations Accountant

Sales & Operations Accountant The Sales & Operations Accountant in a beverage manufacturing operation is responsible for managing, analyzing and reconciling all sales-related financial activities. This role ensures accurate revenue reporting, compliance with pricing structures and effective coordination between sales, operations and accounting teams. The Sales & Operations Accountant supports operational decision making by providing financial insights into sales performance, margins and customer profitability. Sales Accounting & Revenue Management Evaluate and validate sales orders, delivery notes, and proof of delivery. Verify adherence to approved pricing strategies, promotional discounts, and volume-based incentives. Reconcile and analyze sales and operational accounts, investigate variances, support collections efforts. Review and interpret sales contract proposals and ensure customer pricing adherence to agreed upon sales contracts. Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare weekly and monthly sales performance reports with detailed variance analysis. Analyze margins by product line, formulas, customer segment, and region. Provide revenue forecasts in coordination with sales and production planning. Support annual budget and periodic forecasting processes. Maintain accurate records for audits and compliance reviews. Cost & Inventory Coordination Collaborate with production and inventory teams to verify finished goods movement and stock accuracy. Support cost analysis on packaging, raw materials, and logistics and profitability impact. Internal Controls & Compliance Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and beverage industry regulations. Maintain proper documentation for pricing approvals, contracts, and rebate programs. Assist with internal and external audits related to sales and revenue. Cross - Functional Support Work closely with Sales, Operations, Logistics, and Customer Service to resolve billing, pricing, and delivery discrepancies. Support management with ad - hoc sales and financial analysis. Education and Experience:Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. 2–5 years of accounting experience (manufacturing preferred). Strong understanding of revenue recognition and general accounting principles. Proficiency in ERP systems a plus. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis). Preferred: Experience in beverage or food manufacturing. Knowledge of sales incentive structures, distributor models, and promotional accounting. Familiarity with inventory and cost accounting.
