You will provide professional nursing services in the area of assignment, assess the needs of patients and initiates, implements and evaluates individualized plans of care. The position collaborates with other professional, clinical and ancillary staff in providing compassionate and quality care to patients.Medical Surgical Department Charge RN Job ResponsibilitiesIdentify and address patient concerns promptly; investigate issues and report outcomes.Manage patient placement and bed utilization efficiently.Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.Support unit performance improvement and peer review processes.Interpret and enforce hospital policies and procedures.Monitor staffing levels, adjust shifts, and maintain productivity goals.Provide direct patient care and assign tasks based on patient needs and staff skills.Resolve staffing issues and recommend long-term solutions.Report supply or service concerns and collaborate on performance reviews.Train, coach, and validate competencies of new and existing staff.Develop and implement patient care plans based on nursing diagnoses.Maintain professional accountability, licensure, and certifications.Uphold patient rights, privacy, and dignity.Participate in committees and complete assigned duties and education requirements.Follow safety protocols, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.Be available for overtime, on-call duties, and respond within 30 minutes when required.What You BringYou bring strong clinical expertise and leadership to your unit, offering constructive feedback and participating in decision-making processes. As a Charge RN, you're flexible and responsive to scheduling needs, supporting both staff and departmental operations. You demonstrate excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage unit activities and resolve issues. Your ability to build effective relationships with staff, physicians, and patients makes you a respected role model.
