Although we have retained the agility and flexibility of a small company, both our business and our employees now have access to new opportunities for growth.\n\nAccess Laser Company is seeking an RF Engineer to work as part of a small, dedicated engineering team to design prototypes and products for application-specific RF and analog circuits and systems for CO2 laser products.\n\nPrimary Duties:\nSimulate and model RF, analog, and mixed-mode circuits, with a focus on high power amplifiers (multi-kilowatt) with frequencies in the range ~ 10’s-100’s MHz.\nDevelop Proof of Concept (POC) designs, covering requirements definition, circuit simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout, lab testing, troubleshooting, optimization, and documentation.\nDrive Product Development, including executing POC steps, conducting DFx (Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, etc.) iterations, ensuring design compliance, performing rigorous verification and validation, running accelerated lifetime tests, and producing detailed documentation.\nContribute to all phases of design reviews, including conceptual, preliminary, and critical stages.\nPrepare test reports and procedures for prototypes, first articles, V&V (Verification & Validation), DFx, and related activities.\n\nSecondary Duties:\nSupport production by designing test fixtures, developing test automation, and writing test procedures.\nProvide engineering and technical support for the sustaining of all products released for manufacturing:\nAddress design changes and quality issues.\nManage component-related issues, including end-of-life, quality, shortages, and long lead times.\nMitigate risks through testing and validation for alternate component sourcing.\n\nStandard Job Requirements:\nM.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or B.Sc. with more than 5 years of experience.\nAbility to work under general supervision, following established procedures. Work is reviewed for technical soundness and overall adequacy.\nFrequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques, particularly in areas such as circuit theory, RF concepts and applications, RF power amplifier design, synthesizers, PLLs, power oscillators, mixers, and switching power supplies.\nExperience with EDA tools for PCB layout (e.g., Altium).\nExperience with RF simulation software (e.g., ADS, AWR).\nKnowledge or experience in designing for EMC or similar regulatory requirements.\nProficiency with lab test equipment, including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, etc.\nStrong interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.\n\nHighly Desirable Additional Skills/Experience:\nIn-depth understanding of physical phenomena involved in high-power and high-frequency (10’s-100’s MHz) circuit design.\nLaser industry experience\nExperience in designing for EMC or similar regulatory requirements.\nknowledge of microwave engineering concepts (e.g., distributed circuits, transmission lines).\nFrequent interaction with inter-organizational and external customer contacts, representing the organization in providing solutions to complex technical issues associated with specific projects.\nCommitment to promoting scientific rigor and fostering individual skills advancement within the company’s technical team.\n\nWhy work for us\nAt our core, we are an idea company, which is driving expansion and tremendous revenue growth.
