This position is responsible for routine custodial services, basic facility maintenance, and the setup and maintenance of public spaces, meeting rooms, programming areas, and equipment.\n\nThe Facilities Associate plays an important role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for library patrons, staff, volunteers, and visitors.\n\nPOSITION DETAILS\n\nPart-time, 20 hours per week\nNon-exempt (hourly)\n$18.50 per hour\nThis is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote work.\n\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES\n\nCustodial and Cleaning\n\nClean public areas, staff workspaces, meeting rooms, restrooms, offices, breakrooms, and other library spaces.\nSweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and disinfect library facilities.\nEmpty trash and recycling receptacles and properly dispose of waste.\nRestock restroom, cleaning, and custodial supplies.\nClean windows, glass, furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces.\nMaintain exterior entrances, sidewalks, and outdoor areas.\nAssist with seasonal, preventative, and deep-cleaning projects.\n\nFacilities and Maintenance\n\nPerform routine building inspections and identify maintenance, repair, or safety concerns.\nReport maintenance concerns, repair needs, hazards, or unsafe conditions promptly.\nReplace light bulbs and perform minor maintenance tasks as assigned.\nMonitor the overall appearance and condition of the facility and address issues as needed.\nRespond promptly to spills, facility concerns, hazards, and facility emergencies as assigned.\n\nPrograms, Events, and Facility Setup\n\nSet up and take down tables, chairs, equipment, and displays for library programs, meetings, and community events.\nPrepare meeting rooms and programming spaces for public use.\nAssist with moving shelving, furniture, supplies, and other equipment as needed.\nProvide facilities support for large-scale library events and community gatherings.\n\nSupplies, Equipment, and Safety\n\nMonitor custodial supply inventory and request or order supplies as needed.\nMaintain custodial tools and equipment in clean and good working condition.\nFollow established safety procedures for the safe use, handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning products and chemicals.\nMaintain secure storage of custodial chemicals, supplies, and equipment.\nFollow applicable workplace safety requirements and procedures.\nWork collaboratively with library staff to address custodial and facility needs.\nPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support library operations and facility needs.\nRequirements:\n\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.\nExperience in custodial, janitorial, facilities maintenance, or related work preferred.\nKnowledge of basic cleaning methods, equipment, products, and safe chemical handling practices preferred.\nAbility to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming facilities.\nAbility to follow instructions, safety procedures, and established cleaning and maintenance practices.\nAbility to safely operate custodial tools and equipment used in performing assigned duties.\nAbility to respond appropriately and promptly to facility needs and changing priorities.\nAbility to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with library staff.\n\nPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions\n\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.\nRequires frequent bending,
