This role partners closely with Operations, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, optimize cost efficiency, and maintain a strong control environment. The position reports directly to the Controller and works collaboratively with corporate headquarters.\n\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\nOversee day-to-day accounting operations including General Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll\nManage the monthly close process, ensuring accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial results\nReview and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses\nEnsure accurate processing of customer billings, cash receipts, vendor payments, and payroll transactions\nMonitor and enforce segregation of duties and internal controls across all accounting functions\nPartner with Human Resources to ensure accurate payroll processing, benefit accruals, and related reporting\nSupport revenue recognition activities in coordination with the Controller\nMaintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and audit readiness\nDrive continuous improvement in accounting processes, controls, and close efficiency\nSupport ERP optimization and data integrity initiatives\nAssist with post-merger integration and process standardization efforts\nMentor, develop, and review the work of accounting staff\nCollaborate with the Cost Accounting team to ensure accurate financial statements and identify opportunities for margin improvement\nServe as a trusted finance partner to cross-functional teams\nCommunicate clearly and effectively with accounting staff, Controller, and cross-functional stakeholders\n\nSKILLS • EXPERIENCE • EDUCATION:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required)\nCPA preferred\nMinimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated experience leading and developing accounting teams\nManufacturing experience required; aerospace and defense strongly preferred\nStrong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls\nERP experience required, Visibility ERP a plus\nAdvanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities\nAbility to operate effectively in both hands-on and leadership capacities\n\nADDITIONAL INFORMATION:\nThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
