Officers assigned to this post are expected to screen individuals entering the facility, monitor for prohibited items, provide visible deterrence, assist facility personnel, respond appropriately to incidents, and document activity accurately.\nCourthouse security requires professionalism, patience, attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to remain calm in a public-facing environment. This is not a passive post. access control, can follow written and verbal instructions, and can represent the company and client facility with professionalism at all times.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nSecurity Screeners / Courthouse Security Officers may be responsible for:\nScreening individuals entering the facility for weapons, prohibited items, and other potentially dangerous or unauthorized items.\nMaintaining a visible and professional security presence at assigned screening points, entrances, public areas, and facility posts.\nMonitoring public and nonpublic areas, including entrances, lobbies, hallways, parking areas, stairways, exterior areas, and other assigned locations.\nProviding access control and helping ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.\nResponding quickly and professionally to emergency and nonemergency situations.\nAssisting facility personnel, clients, visitors, and authorized staff as needed.\nEscorting individuals when directed by facility representatives or supervisors.\nObserving and reporting suspicious activity, safety hazards, disturbances, property damage, policy violations, or security concerns.\nProviding deterrence against crime, prohibited activity, unauthorized access, and disruptive conduct.\nCommunicating with supervisors, facility representatives, dispatch, law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services when appropriate.\nMonitoring alarm systems, access control systems, security cameras, or other site security equipment if assigned.\nPatrolling designated areas in accordance with post orders and security procedures.\nWriting accurate, clear, professional, and complete incident reports, injury reports, event reports, and daily activity documentation.\nFollowing all post orders, client requirements, courthouse rules, company policies, and applicable laws.\nMaintaining a clean uniform, professional appearance, and calm command presence throughout the shift.\nPerforming other securityrelated duties as directed by a supervisor, security lead, or facility representative.\nMinimum Requirements\nApplicants must meet the following minimum requirements:\nMust be at least 18 years old.\nHigh school diploma or GED preferred.\nActive California BSIS Guard Card required.\nMust provide a copy of current BSIS Guard Card.\nMust provide copies of all required training certificates.\nMust have completed BSISrequired training, including Power to Arrest and Appropriate Use of Force.\nMust have completed or be able to provide documentation of the required 32 hours of BSISmandated security officer training.\nMust complete annual continuing education/refresher training as applicable.\nCurrent First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required or must be obtained as required by assignment.\nValid governmentissued ID or valid driver’s license required.\nReliable transportation required.\nMust pass background screening consistent with California employment law.\nMust comply with company and client policies related to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, vaping, impairment, safety, confidentiality, reporting, uniforms, and professional conduct.\nMust be available to work MondayFriday, 8:00 AM5:00 PM.\nMust be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, carry items when needed, and remain alert for extended periods.\nMust be able to communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, facility staff, facilities.\nExperience working around the public in a professional environment.\nStrong reportwriting skills.\nDeescalation or conflictresolution experience.\nFirst Aid, CPR, and AED certification already current.\nCurrent BSIS Baton Permit.\nOC spray certification.\nPrior military, law enforcement, corrections, public safety, or first responder experience.\nBilingual ability, especially
