This position offers meaningful exposure to internal and external stakeholders and the opportunity to influence decisions that help define the next generation of energy infrastructure in California.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nLead the development of utility-scale battery energy storage projects across the CAISO market, guiding projects from early-stage feasibility through construction readiness\nDrive key development workstreams, including land acquisition, permitting, environmental review, interconnection, project design, and commercial structuring, in partnership with internal teams and external consultants\nManage project permitting and regulatory processes, including agency coordination, application submissions, public hearings, and compliance activities\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with landowners, community stakeholders, utilities, public officials, regulatory agencies, and strategic project partners\nAssess project risks, opportunities, and development strategies to support project advancement, value creation, and investment decisions\nSupport power marketing, energy offtake, project financing, due diligence, and M&A activities, including business case development and investment committee materials\nMaintain project schedules, budgets, reporting, and governance processes to ensure progress against key milestones and development objectives\nMonitor market, regulatory, and policy developments affecting energy storage projects while representing ENGIE at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder forums\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\n\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Finance, Economics, Energy, Planning, or a related field\nMinimum five (5) years of experience developing utility-scale renewable energy, energy storage, transmission, infrastructure, or other large-scale capital projects\nExperience advancing projects through key development milestones, including permitting, interconnection, regulatory review, stakeholder engagement, and construction readiness\nExperience developing projects within the CAISO market, with knowledge of California regulatory, permitting, and interconnection processes; experience within other ISO/RTO markets may be considered\nProven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while identifying risks, solving complex challenges, and driving projects forward\nStrong relationship-building skills with landowners, community stakeholders, utilities, regulatory agencies, public officials, consultants, and cross-functional teams\nUnderstanding of project economics, commercial considerations, and investment decision-making, including the evaluation of project risks and opportunities\nExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across technical, commercial, and executive audiences\n\nAdditional Details\n\nThis role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy\nMust be available to travel domestically up to 25% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips\nMust be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies\n\nCompensation\n\nSalary Range: $107,100 – $163,200 USD annually\n\nThis represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.\n\nENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
