Captivation is looking for software developers who can get stuff done while making a difference in support of the mission to protect our country.\n\nDescription\nCaptivation Software is looking for an entry level cloud software engineer who will be working within a product development team implementing graph theoretic methods and will have a primary focus on supporting all aspects of agile software design and development, to include development of new capabilities, testing, optimization and performance tuning, operation, and sustainment functions. The candidate will collaborate with Research organizations and other contracts. The candidate will also be responsible for addressing requirements and support ongoing product modernization activities. and will have a primary focus of supporting all aspects of agile software design and development for a capabilities that are integrated into a Data Warehouse. Duties include development of new capabilities, testing, optimization and performance tuning, operation, and sustainment functions.\n\nRequirements\nSecurity Clearance:\nMust currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen\nMinimum Qualifications:\nA Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field from an accredited college or university is highly desired which will be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience. NOTE: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.\nShall have at least 2 years of experience in software engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, and problem diagnosis/resolution.\nShall have demonstrated ability to work with OpenSource (NoSQL) products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, Accumulo, Big Table, et cetera.\nShall have at least one (1) year of experience developing software with high level languages such as Java or C++\nShall have at least two (2) years of experience in software integration and software testing, to include developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.\nRequired Skills:\nWillingness to be a committer/contributor to open source applications\nJava programming for distributed systems, with experience in networking and multi-threading\nApache Hadoop\nApache Accumulo\nApache NiFi\nAgile development experience\nWell-grounded in Linux fundamentals\nKnowledge in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.)\nExperience with source code management practices and tools\nEnabling tools: Git, Maven, Jira\nContinuous Integration/Continuous Testing: Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab Cl/Pipelines\nContinuous Monitoring: ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana), Nagios\nFamiliarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)\n\nThis position is open for direct hires only.
