Arthrex Manufacturing is actively searching for a Suture Assembly Operator. This position will be located at the new Arthrex manufacturing facility in Pendleton, SC. The hours for this position are nights (7:15pm to 5:45am Monday -Thursday).\n\nThis position involves the assembly and testing of medical products and related packaging. Therefore, the work is performed in a clean room environment. Employees who work in clean rooms have a gowning process which includes wearing a hair net, lab coat and booties over shoes. Employees who work in clean rooms may not wear makeup, jewelry, perfumes, hair gels, fake eyelashes, fake nails, etc.\n\nThis Position Includes:\nA one-time sign-on bonus of $2,000.00 minus appropriate tax withholding will be paid to you on the first pay period after you start your employment at Arthrex.\n\nMain Objective:\nTo produce Quality Medical Instruments in accordance with Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. procedures in a Safe and Effective manner to meet and exceed the customer’s needs.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nSupport current processes related to existing suture assembly.\nOperate suture attaching process to crimp needles to nitonol wire and braided suture, wire cutting machine, arbor press machine to assemble sub-assembly work orders.\nPerform dimensional checks on the product where necessary.\nPackage suture in support cards using a variety of winding techniques. Performs pouch loading, pouch sealing, supplemental label application, pouch labeling and folding carton labeling.\nTraining successfully completed to one of the outside areas of the department to include Boxing\nComplete batch records with any required information from the processes.\nEscalate assembly issues to Production Coordinator\nResponsible for proper storage, control, and identification of tooling and fixtures.\nPerform terminal cleaning and daily housekeeping utilizing various cleaning and disinfecting agents.\n\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required\nManufacturing experience related to technical and mechanical aspect of manufacturing including operation of packaging equipment a plus\n\nKnowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:\nSelf-motivated and able to work independently when necessary.\nAble to determine materials and tools required to perform the operation(s).\nCan perform different tasks/operation required to manufacture the product.\nCreative thinker and is able to suggest process improvements and problem solve.\nAble to use inspection tools and measuring devices to assure quality of product.\nBasic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook is a plus.\n\nMachine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:\nThe technology and the frequency of the technology required to perform this job are as follows; the occasional operation of some automated equipment, winding, attaching machines, label printing, weigh scales, label dispenser machine, manual sealers, cleaning machine, and general test equipment.\n\nReasoning Ability:\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, problem solve and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.\n\nMathematical Skills:\nAbility to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.\n\nLanguage and Communication Skills:\nAbility to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.\n\nPhysical Demands:\nExerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.\n\nVision Requirements:\nVisual acuity necessary to do the job safely and effectively.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.\n\nWork Environment:\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The only way to control contamination is to control the total environment- air flow rates and direction, pressurization, temperature, humidity, specialized filtration and the sources of these particles all need to be tightly controlled. Temperature ranges from 69F-73F.
