PowerApps Subject Matter Expert (SME)📍 Location: Washington, DC (Onsite, 5 Days/Week)🔒 Clearance: Active Secret Clearance RequiredAbout The RoleImprovix Technologies is looking for a hands-on PowerApps SME to help modernize mission-critical applications at the U.S. Department of State. If you’re passionate about turning outdated tools into sleek, scalable Power Platform solutions—and enjoy collaborating directly with stakeholders to solve real business challenges—this role is for you.You’ll evaluate existing .NET and SharePoint apps, reimagine them through Power Platform, and guide users toward intuitive, future-ready solutions that empower the mission.What You’ll DoAssess & Strategize: Analyze legacy apps (primarily .NET and SharePoint) to determine modernization paths—refactor, rebuild, or replace using Power Platform.Design & Develop: Create end-to-end Power Apps and Power Automate workflows leveraging Dataverse, M365, and external data sources.Prototype with Purpose: Build quick, functional proofs of concept that demonstrate the “art of the possible” with low-code innovation.Enable & Empower: Support business users and citizen developers to extend, maintain, and optimize their apps.Document & Educate: Produce clear, concise documentation and deliver hands-on training to both technical and non-technical audiences.Champion Best Practices: Lead by example—ensure your builds follow scalable architecture, strong UX/UI design, data governance, and security compliance.What You Bring5+ years in IT solution development, including 2+ years focused on Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)Proven experience modernizing legacy applications and integrating APIs or enterprise data sourcesDeep knowledge of Power Fx, Dataverse schema design, and solution architectureStrong mentoring and communication skills—comfortable coaching users through app maintenanceFamiliarity with M365, Power BI, and basic scripting (PowerShell, JavaScript)Bonus SkillsExperience supporting federal or high-compliance environmentsUnderstanding of Agile or Scrum methodologiesKnowledge of SharePoint Framework (SPFx)A good eye for clean, intuitive UX/UI designCertificationsRequiredMicrosoft Certified: Power Platform FundamentalsMicrosoft Certified: Power Platform Developer AssociatePreferredMicrosoft Certified: DevOps Engineer ExpertScrum Alliance: Certified Scrum DeveloperWhy You’ll Love Working at ImprovixAt Improvix Technologies, we’re not just implementing technology — we’re empowering missions that matter.
