With the vast array of automation solutions we provide, electro-mechanical designs could range from: 1) control panel assembly layouts, 2) electrical schematic generation, 3) gearmotor configurations, to 4) configuring pneumatic valve stacks. However, in addition, the core platform of the mechanical designs will be our aluminum extrusion product offering. Each level below builds upon technical and leadership skills to support the team's overall success.\nReports to: Design Engineering Manager\nCollaborates with: Materials Team, Sales Team, Engineering Team, Operations Team, Customers\nKey Responsibilities:\nRoutine Work:\nWithin the Department\nAssist with taking a system concept and / or quote and turning that into a fully designed system with 1) a bill of materials, 2) design drawings, and 3) supporting detail\nEffectively and efficiently use 1) Solidworks, 2) AutoCAD and 3) EPLAN software packages to produce:\nControl panel mechanical layouts\nElectrical schematic designs\nAssist in converting Solidworks, AutoCAD or EPLAN drawings for use on a Perforex enclosure modification machine\nAssist with validating and verifying build specifications, and ensuring compliance with industry standards\nMaintain product knowledge across existing 1) mechanical, 2) electrical, 3) robotic, and 4) motion control product families and manufacturers\nEffectively and efficiently use Microsoft software (Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and business software used by the company\nRecord and track project tasks, and perform effective project management; prioritizing and managing multiple assignments as needed\nOutside the Department\nHelp resolve manufacturing issues as they arise by working closely with the production teams\nInterface directly with customers to gather design information required to develop a solution that meets the customer’s requirements\nNon-Routine Work:\nAdditional Tasks\nEffectively and efficiently use: 1) Solidworks, 2) AutoCAD, and 3) quoter tools to generate:\nMechanical aluminum extrusion designs\nBills of materials\nProject quotes\nProvide timely and accurate responses to technical customer requests for quote\nAssist in performing peer design reviews\nStretch / Change / Growth Tasks\nUL 508a Qualified Manufacturer Technical Representative\nObtain a UL MTR Certification to be the local on-site representative when UL compliance questions are generated by the production teams\nAssist Inside Sales and Business Development Managers to develop the scope of work and initial bill of materials estimates for project quotes\nThis position will allow for developing sales and engineering aptitude, along with relationship building skills and vast experience in applications\nKey Competencies & Skills:\nHard Skills\nIndustry Knowledge\nIn-depth knowledge of the automation industry, market trends, and competitors\nUnderstanding the company’s products, services, and target market\nStrategic Thinking - Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to:\nIdentify growth opportunities\nDevelop complex designs\nAdapt to changing technologies\nResults Oriented\nSelf-motivated and driven to achieve results, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment\nResilient to changing priorities as customers’ needs fluctuate.\nSoft Skills\nCommunication and Interpersonal Skills - Strong verbal and written communications, with the ability to thrive in a team environment.\nKnowledge:\nFamiliarity designing in:\nEPLAN (Preferred)\nSolidworks\nAutoCAD\nKnowledge of electric circuits, with the ability to read and design electrical schematics\nFamiliarity with UL508a standards\nBasic understanding of mechanical concepts, including:\nDesign for assembly (DFA)\nDesign for manufacturing (DFM)\n\nQualifications & Experience:\n\nEducation:\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.\n\nExperience:\n1+ years of experience in engineering or related field.\nWe participate in E-Verify.\nEqual Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
