Project Engineer I
SUMMARYMortenson is currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer I in our Power Delivery Services Group with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Project Engineer will review, provide analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues with project team members and participants.Location: VariousVisa sponsorship is not offered for this position.RESPONSIBILITIESInterpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft personsImplement the pre-construction quality planObtain and maintain construction permits; manage fee payments and recurring expensesDevelop and maintain Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance ReportManage, create, and distribute contract documentsEstablish handling procedures for electronic documents (RFIs, correspondence)Incorporate processes and procedures for project closeout phaseManage testing and inspection processes for construction quality managementImplement three-phase inspection systemEstablish reporting formats, protocols, schedules, and off-site testing proceduresNotify Project Manager and Superintendent of non-conforming test results or inspection itemsManage submittals: set up register, obtain customer/architect approval, prepare transmittal forms, coordinate packaging, review, and processingExpedite submittals to align with project scheduleCommunicate submittal process details to subcontractors and suppliersIssue submittal requirement lettersProvide periodic updates of submittal register to customer or architectCoordinate subcontractor details: verify insurance, prepare paperwork, request final paymentDevelop and distribute RFIs and Change OrdersDefine and implement procedures for posting revisions and updates to as-built construction documentsIncorporate subcontractor as-built documentation into contract document updatesMentor, manage, and evaluate field engineersDetermine alternative work methods as neededCoordinate safety and compliance for all team membersMaintain schedule of timelines and ensure completionQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction ManagementMinimum of two years related construction experienceDetail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasksPossess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practicesStrong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skillsProven positive and professional attitude and customer service skillsCurrent driver's licenseA few benefits offered include:(for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week)Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption AssistanceGym Membership Discount ProgramThe base pay range for this role is $84,100 - $113,500. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
