fabricating, assembling, and installing structural parts of ships and other marine vessels in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and shipyard standards.\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nRead and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine layout, assembly, and installation procedures.\n\nCut, align, fit, and tack structural parts of ships using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.\n\nLay out reference points and lines on ship components using measuring instruments.\n\nAssemble hulls, bulkheads, frames, and other structural components in proper alignment.\n\nUse cutting torches, grinders, and hand tools to prepare metal surfaces and cut material.\n\nEnsure quality and accuracy in fitting and fabrication work.\n\nFollow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.\n\nAssist with lifting and positioning large components using cranes, hoists, or rigging.\n\nCollaborate with welders, pipefitters, and other trades to complete vessel construction or repair.\n\nRequirements:\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.\n\nMinimum 3+ years of ship fitting or related fabrication experience in a shipyard or heavy industrial setting.\n\nAbility to read and understand shipyard drawings and blueprints.\n\nSkilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and measuring instruments.\n\nFamiliarity with shipyard
