SUMTER SCHOOL DISTRICTJob Title: School Based Administrative Manager (Non-Certified)Reports To: PrincipalLocation: Rafting Creek Elementary SchoolEmployment Type: 205 days Job SummaryThe School Based Administrative Manager. provides vital support to the school principal by assisting in daily operations that promote a safe, orderly, and positive school environment. While not a certified administrator, the individual in this role serves as a key member of the school leadership team with a focus on student behavior management, school safety protocols, and supervisory duties throughout the school day.Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Behavior and DisciplineAssist in managing student behavior incidents in accordance with school discipline policies. Support the implementation of positive behavior strategies. Help investigate incidents, gather statements, and document outcomes. Provide supervision during transitions and high-traffic times to support student conduct. School Safety and SecurityMonitor building and campus safety procedures. Assist with fire drills, lockdowns, and other safety drills. Serve as a liaison between staff and administration regarding safety concerns. Support the development and enforcement of safety plans and expectations. Supervision and Duty CoverageProvide daily supervision during arrival, breakfast, lunch, recess, and dismissal. Assist with morning duty, hallway supervision, and classroom transitions. Supervise bus loading/unloading and afternoon bus duty to ensure safe student transport. Monitor and assist with crowd control during assemblies or school events. Administrative SupportSupport the principal with student referrals, follow-ups, and parent communication. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other team members to address student needs. Maintain accurate records and assist with incident reporting and documentation. Attend staff meetings and professional development as requested. QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred). Experience working with children or adolescents in a school or youth setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage student behavior professionally. Demonstrated reliability and commitment to student safety and school values. Preferred AttributesExperience in school or educational environments. Understanding of school safety and behavior protocols. Dependable, team-oriented, and solutions-focused.
