The position is best suited for someone interested in working in a fast-paced consultant environment, does not mind some travel, and capable of effectively working as part of a collaborative team.\n\nCerterra Southern Engineering is a consulting firm focused on building a highly skilled, collaborative team to provide innovative geotechnical, construction materials testing and environmental engineering services. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in the engineering field as part of a team that values collaboration and initiative.\n\nDuties/Responsibilities\n\nField and laboratory testing of construction materials.\n\nMaintaining required certifications (ACI, ICC, NCDOT)\n\nCoordinating with clients and Project Managers.\n\nTravel to client facilities as needed\n\nReport writing and computer skills\n\nProvides clear documentation of findings and results.\n\nPerforms basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.\n\nCommunicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the PM.\n\nAssists higher level technicians on complex tasks.\n\nMaintains assigned equipment and related calibration.\n\nFollows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.\n\nBe responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.\n\nEducation/Qualifications\n\n0-2 years of construction materials testing experience\n\nACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification (preferred)\n\nICC certifications (preferred)\n\nNCDOT certifications (preferred)\n\nA strong safety focus and attention to detail\n\nExcellent plan reading skills\n\nA demonstrated math and technical aptitude\n\nFlexibility to work extended or non-traditional hours as needed\n\nExcellent Verbal and written communication skills\n\nA High School diploma or equivalent\n\nA valid driver’s license and clean driving history\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nAbility to perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking on uneven ground on construction sites.\n\nThe ability to lift 50-75 pounds\n\nComfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions\n\nWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
