About the job Corona/CA Senior Engineering Manager - Industrial Automation & Capital Equipment A global engineering and manufacturing organization specializing in advanced thermal processing systems is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary engineering operations within a highly technical industrial manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineering leader with strong experience in capital equipment, industrial automation, and machinery manufacturing. The successful candidate will oversee both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams while driving innovation, technical excellence, product development, and operational efficiency across complex industrial systems. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage Electrical and Mechanical Engineering departments, including direct oversight of engineering staff and technical initiativesDevelop and execute engineering strategies aligned with business growth, product innovation, and manufacturing efficiency goalsCollaborate closely with Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Executive teams to support customer requirements and new business developmentOversee the design, integration, and troubleshooting of advanced industrial machinery and automation systemsDrive continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance, process optimization, quality, and cost reductionEnsure engineering compliance with customer specifications, company standards, and industrial regulationsSupport R&D activities, prototype development, and advanced manufacturing initiativesProvide technical leadership for high-performance equipment involving PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and automated controlsManage engineering resources, budgets, timelines, and departmental prioritiesLead customer technical discussions, presentations, and engineering reviewsMentor and develop engineering talent while fostering a high-performance engineering culture Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering7-10 years of experience in industrial machinery design and manufacturingPrior experience working for a company that designs and manufactures capital equipment is required3-5 years of leadership or engineering management experienceStrong background in industrial automation and controlsHands-on experience with:PLC systemsHMIsSCADA platformsInstrumentation and electrical controlsStrong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering operationsExperience managing multidisciplinary engineering teamsProficiency with CAD software and Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPointStrong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving abilities Preferred QualificationsExperience within heat treatment, thermal processing, vacuum furnace, or industrial heating equipment industriesFamiliarity with:Allen Bradley PLCs (500/5000)Intouch WonderwareHC900 Design StationMechanical engineering knowledgeExperience using FEA and CFD toolsBackground in advanced manufacturing technologies and automationExperience leading R&D and engineering innovation programs Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineering leader with proven experience managing complex industrial equipment projects in a manufacturing environment.
