We recently expanded our campus to include a 26,000 square foot clinic building with additional therapy space, vocational training spaces, community skills labs (mock doctor, dentist, barber, shopping), and a mini-apartment for independent living skills practice!\n\nJob Summary\nDevelops individualized educational programs, trains and supervises staff, provides ongoing evaluation of ABC of NC services, performs administrative duties.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nConduct skills and functional behavior assessments in collaboration with staff psychologist.\n\nDevelop and supervise implementation of client plans including, but not limited to: individualized education programs (IEPs), individualized family services plans (IFSPs), person-centered plans, behavior intervention plans, etc.\n\nCommunicate with clients teams including family, direct care staff, psychologist, etc.\n\nProvide staff caregiver and community trainings.\n\nConstruct/utilize appropriate curricula to teach skills across all domains (e.g. communication, play, self-help, academic).\n\nSupervise and observe teaching staff and provide ongoing written and verbal feedback to supervisees.\n\nRecognize the need for and seek supervision from supervisors regarding all aspects of the job.\n\nLead client team meetings and home visits.\n\nCollect, compile, and graph data; make data-based decisions regarding client programs.\n\nProvide written educational/clinical reports.\n\nFacilitate student transitions to other services when appropriate.\n\nWork constructively and cooperatively with professionals from other organizations (e.g. school district personnel, speech/language pathologists, case managers, etc.).\n\nParticipate in continuing education activities within and outside of ABC of NC and stay abreast of current research in the field of autism treatment/education.\n\nAttend and contribute to staff, lead teacher, enrollment, and other meetings.\n\nManage staff morale, evaluate policies and procedures, and provide input for improvement to the leadership team.\n\nMarket ABC of NC programs through community tours, client referrals, research presentations, conference participation, and vendor booths.\n\nPerform administrative duties (e.g. billing reports, etc.) as outlined by the Policies and Procedures Manual.\n\nAssist senior program supervisors psychologist, and executive director as needed.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nMust be able to observe and move with children in their natural environments (e.g. home, school and outside or in community).\n\nMust be able to demonstrate working and playing with children; must be able to sit on floor on ground and move easily in this capacity.\n\nMust be able to lift small children.\n\nMust be able to utilize safe non-violent crisis intervention techniques with students of all ages.\n\nMust be able to teach and assist with toileting skills.\n\nMust be able to perform the following gross motor activities:\n\nClimbing (e.g. upon playground equipment)\n\nBending over (e.g. to assist child with writing)\n\nSquatting (e.g. to assist child putting on shoes)\n\nRunning (e.g. running through a sprinkler with a child)\n\nCarrying (e.g. teaching materials, toys, art supplies)\n\nMust be able to perform the following fine motor activities:\n\nManipulation of teaching materials\n\nWriting data\n\nMust be able to type on a computer keyboard.\n\nQualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)\n\nMaster’s degree from a college or university in a related field.\n\nBoard certification as a behavior analyst (BCBA).\n\nSuperior teaching skills and clinical judgment with children across the autism spectrum.\n\nExceptional organizational and time management skills.\n\nWillingness to expand teaching and supervisory skills/knowledge.\n\nComputer skills including strong Microsoft Suite skills, including graphing.\n\nFun, upbeat, energetic and creative.\n\nStrong communication skills, including writing, oral presentation, and listening skills.\n\nBasic knowledge of relevant assessments, curricula, and research in autism.\n\nPass a criminal background check.\n\nBenefits\nHealth, dental, short-term disability, long-term disability, life, supplemental, 401-K, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), paid time off, vacation.\n\nEqual Employment Opportunity\nWe are an equal employment opportunity employer.
