Project Developer - Battery Storage

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing clean energy company seeking a Project Developer to advance energy storage projects in key U.S. markets, with a strong emphasis on New York City. This role plays a central part in building and executing a high growth pipeline, leading activities across site control, interconnection, and permitting. The position focuses on greenfield development, speed of execution, and cross functional coordination, reporting to senior leadership. We are seeking a motivated self starter who thrives in a fast paced environment.Responsibilities• Project identification: Originate, diligence, and secure project sites through greenfield and acquisition opportunities• Project development: Secure interconnection, local permits, and offtake arrangements in an efficient manner• Value optimization: Maintain a clear understanding of design and project economics to maximize portfolio returns. Develop and manage budgets with leadership• Stakeholder management: Build and maintain relationships with consultants, landowners, utilities, government agencies, and community groups to accelerate pipeline growth• Risk management: Identify development risks and create practical mitigation strategiesQualifications• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Advanced degree is a plus• Three to six years of experience in clean energy development, ideally in distributed or C&I solar and storage• Strong preference for BESS experience• Financial literacy with experience supporting or building project models• Strong project management capability with the ability to translate complexity into action• Excellent communication and relationship building skills• High initiative, detail oriented, and accountable• Comfortable operating in a dynamic, high growth settingCompensationBase salary in the $130,000 to $160,000 range plus bonus, benefits, profit sharing, and potential equity, depending on experience.LocationWashington DC preferred.
