Provides safe, quality care for patients entrusted to our care. Performs other duties as assigned. Assist Supervisors with documentation requirements as needed.\nRequirements for Employment:\nHigh school graduate or equivalent education;\n18 years of age or older;\nPossess a valid New York State Commercial Driver License “C” or higher; with Passenger\nEndorsement. (Or be eligible to obtain license prior to hire)\nPossess a clean driving record;\nMeet N.Y.S. DOT 19A regulations for driving an Ambulette/School Bus.\nPhysical Requirements:\nStrength ability must be sufficient to perform lifting, pulling, carrying, pushing and\nhandling weight of at least 150lbs.\nMobility parameters including sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and\ncrouching, as well as reaching above and below the shoulder.\nWork Environment:\nIndoor and outdoor work including any and all possible weather conditions.\nInteraction with hospital, medical facility and nursing home staff.\nExposure to ill and elderly patients, as well mentally ill patients.\nAreas of Responsibility:\nA. Operational Standards:\n\nCompletes assignments as per work schedule;\nPrepares Ambulette vehicles for service prior to each tour (check and replenish supplies, clean driver’s compartment, patient compartment and windows);\n(Prior to departure) performs required vehicle inspection (fuel, fluids, oil, general operations) and complete vehicle inspection sheet;\nInspects wheelchairs, securing devices, vehicle ramp and safety equipment for proper operations;\nReports and ensures correction of problems noted during inspection, prior to departure;\nPrepares and clean vehicles equipment at end of shift in a timely matter, for the next day’s business;\nResponds to Dispatch directive promptly and efficiently;\nCompletes calls and returns in service;\nPerforms other duties assigned.\nB. Documentation:\n\nProvide and submit accurate and pertinent written and/or electronic documentation of customer transports and mileage;\nReports all accidents, collects accident information and completes accident reports in accordance with N.Y.S. law and company policy.\n\nC. Vehicle Operations:\n\nAttends defensive driving and training\nComplies with N.Y.S. seat belt usage law at all times;\nComplies with all N.Y.S. driving laws;\nDocuments needed repairs of vehicles, per Unity Ambulette Corp. policy;\nMaintain conditions and cleanliness of vehicles exterior and interior;\nOperates company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.\nD. Patient Care Responsibilities:\n\nExercises safe handling of patients during transfer and transport.\nE. Professionalism:\n\nWorks effectively as a team member;\nActively participates in orientation of new employees;\nMaintains a professional company image and respect for others;\nDemonstrates ability to identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts when they occur with co-workers;\nIdentifies personal and professional areas for improvement.\nF. Customer Service:\n\nMaintains a professional appearance by complying with uniform policy;\nMaintains good personal hygiene;\nMaintains a calm and professional attitude;\nExhibits quality, positive interactions with patients, doctors, facility staff and community;\nMaintains patient confidentiality by following HIPAA rules and regulations.\nG.
