{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"afbe24efc8efc1853b85381e","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/afbe24efc8efc1853b85381e","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/afbe24efc8efc1853b85381e","title":"Quality Engineer","description":"Job Description\n\nJob Position Summary:Responsible for the day-to-day quality improvements initiatives as well as the planning, coordination, and implementation of specific quality improvement projects.\r\nMinimum Requirements:\r\nBachelor’s Degree or 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering environment\r\nQuality Engineering experience in aerospace manufacturing\r\nThorough understanding of inspection methods, techniques, and equipment\r\nExperience with ISO-9001 or AS-9100 Quality Management Systems\r\nExperience with common machine shop gaging and techniques\r\nAbility to manage projects and get them done in a timely manner\r\nAbility to identify areas for improvement and think strategically to enhance efficiency\r\nAbility to identify root cause and determine corrective actions\r\nProficient computer skills including Microsoft Office\r\nStrong understanding of 6S\r\nStrong understanding of blueprint reading (GD&T)\r\nRequired to pass annual eye exam by licensed optometrist\r\nASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred\r\nKnowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations\r\nStrong understanding of AS9102 First Article submittal process\r\nAbility to perform internal audits independently.\r\nDuties/Responsibilities:\r\nEnsure adherence to safety regulation and standard. Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.\r\nServes as ‘Voice of the Customer’ reviewing concerns, questions and nonconforming material. Analyze failures; perform root cause analysis and corrective action for process related concerns and/or customer complaints.\r\nReview, analyze, and determine root cause and corrective actions for internal nonconforming material.\r\nResponsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system and tools as well as work with manufacturing and engineering personnel in support of the quality function.\r\nInterfaces with engineering and operations to ensure successful new product launches.\r\nSupports the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and customer requirements.\r\nContinuously improve first piece, in-process, and final inspection processes and procedures.\r\nFollow 6S procedures and maintain a clean organized work area.\r\nPosts Key Business Indicators in support of company and corporate goals.\r\nAssists in developing personnel to improve skills required to reduce final inspection turn-backs.\r\nInstalls statistical sampling and monitoring of processes as required, reports on trends.\r\nAssist the Quality Engineer Manager in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System.\r\nLead the submittal of First Article Inspection Reports.\r\nPerform audits (6S, internal) and assist in external audits (customer, 3rd-party, registrar, NADCAP).\r\nOther duties as assigned by management.\r\nWorking Conditions:\r\nNormal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.\r\nMay be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.\r\nPhysical Requirements:\r\nMust have ability to read applicable customer/B&E documents with or without corrective lenses\r\nMay have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required\r\nAbility to pass annual eye exam by licensed optometrist.\r\nMust be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of timeEqual Employment Opportunity\r\nKinetic Engine Systems is an EqualOpportunity/AffirmativeAction Employer.
