If you’re an enthusiastic team player who thrives in an environment where communication, creativity, and cooperation are encouraged, this may just be the opportunity for you.\nAbout the Opportunity:\nThe successful Sous Chef, in conjunction with the Executive Chef, participates in managing back-of-the-house (BOH) cruise execution to ensure consistently high levels of quality, sanitation, service and guest satisfaction while maintaining a high level of profitability.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities:\nSchedule all port galley staff\nResponsible for all ordering of product for your port, ensuring quality and competitive pricing\nComplete monthly food and quarterly supply inventories.\nMaintain health standards and ensure operation remains in full compliance with Health Department and other relevant regulatory agencies\nAssist Executive Chef in creating, costing and maintaining menus as needed.\nBe available for sales managers to answer regarding menus and pricing.\nOversee all food productions as much as possible to ensure quality and consistency with product.\nComplete all costing sheets, purchase orders and any other relevant paperwork for Accounting in a timely manner.\nWork 3-4 onboard shifts per week depending on business.\nAttend weekly catering meetings\nPrepare and execute Food tastings as needed\nWork closely with Event Managers and Food and Beverage Managers to ensure cohesive relationship between departments and identify areas where one can help the other out.\nGreet guests, whenever present, with a smile and helpful manner.\nAssist Executive Chef as needed.\nRequirements & Qualifications:\nFriendly leadership style with the ability to mentor and manage a diverse team\n3 years’ experience in a high volume restaurant, catering, or hotel kitchen with at least 2 years’ managerial experience\nFood Handlers Certificate & Serve Safe Certificate, able to qualify for a TWIC certification\nMust have a passion for food and enjoy staying current with food trends\nMicrosoft Office proficiency\nDegree/training in food services desired\nThe RESPECT Service System embodies City Experiences’ mission, vision, values and operating principles.
