DescriptionSPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTReports to the Director of WellnessRESPONSIBILITIES:The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will work in coordination with administer hearing speech and language evaluations, tests and examinations to patients. This individual will evaluate hearing, speech/language test results and medical background to diagnose and plan treatment. The SLP will develop, implement and monitor treatment plans for patient problems such as stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorders or voice problems and adjust treatments accordingly. The therapist will document the initial evaluation, treatment, progress and discharge of patients. Instruct patients in communication techniques and teach speech, muscle and breathing exercises.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Master's Degree in Speech TherapyMississippi State Department of Health Speech-Language Pathologist license including the Clinic Competence Certificate and American Speech/Hearing Association Certification is required.3 years of experienceExcellent Communication SkillsExperience within a clinical environment is preferredESSENTIAL DUTIES:Identify the speech and/or communication difficulty or disorder of patient.Asses the cause and nature of the problem.Devise and deliver a suitable treatment program to enable each patient to improve as much as possible.Review and revise treatment plan, as appropriate.Monitor and evaluate patient's progress.Advise patient caregivers on assistance in treatment plan.Manage a caseload of clients while taking into account priority cases, successful outcomes, referrals and discharges of patients.Work within team environment to improve effectiveness of service delivery.Other duties as assigned.
