What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.\n\nAbout the role:\nMytra’s robotics team is looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to develop software critical for motion control, task execution, and safety management of our robotic fleet as we scale. You will collaborate closely across multidisciplinary hardware and software teams, own firmware development throughout the product lifecycle, and contribute significantly to real-time embedded systems critical to our robot's performance.\n\nResponsibilities:\nDeliver high quality code across many layers of the robotics software stack\nImplement highly performant and real time code for critical control and safety functions\nIdentify performance, maintainability, and reliability of code changes\nContribute to the complete life cycle of software features including feature definition, implementation, test plan, and roll out strategy\nAssess and contribute to long-term architectural decisions as software evolves\nLead and manage integration of initial prototype systems including bring-up, debug, and engineering test of alpha and beta phase prototype robots\nQualifications:\nBS in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent\nStrong experience with Python, particularly focused on application and process level development\nExperience with C/C++/Rust and system level environments\nDemonstrated ability to break down complex problems into actionable incremental progress in a continuous integration development environment\nExperience coding in concurrent and multithreaded environments\nUnderstanding of electromechanical systems, kinematics, and robotics control\nExperience with network communication technologies, including CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, and pub/sub frameworks like NATS\nUnderstanding of how hardware changes affect robotics software and vice-versa\nUnderstanding of Git and software version management\nStrong knowledge of software design and maintainability patterns\nPreferred experience in embedded software and/or firmware development\nAbility to fluently interpret system data to root cause logged faults and build robust diagnostic tools\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with Linux operating systems and kernel fundamentals\nA Final Note:\nYou’re encouraged to apply even if you can’t take on every example project in its totality.
