The BSI Structural Engineering team will analyze the buildings and work with other members of the design team to ensure all structures are secure and up to code.\n\nOur team can address any our client’s civil and structural needs, surrounding any process engineering and design. Our Civil/ Structural group has a broad range of experience across all process industries. Capabilities and project experience range from building modifications and upgrades, to new buildings and new plant equipment support systems, to complex structures within an existing manufacturing operating environment.\n\nResponsibilities\nAssists in gathering field data\nWith supervision, uses design criteria document(s) to meet the project objectives\nEnsures quality and technical accuracy of assigned deliverables\nFollows the BSI Standard Operating Procedures and Client Standards\nWith supervision, performs necessary calculations and design effort to prepare deliverables\nCoordinates work with Designers on a project\nMeets individual schedule and budget objectives on assigned projects\nAssists in capital cost estimating\nDesign of structures for steel, concrete, masonry and wood\nWith supervision selects appropriate construction materials\nWith supervision, participates in construction support, startup and commissioning efforts\nProvides input to identify individual training needs and goals and receives training from others and may attend outside seminars\nOccasionally interfaces with other design discipline counterparts and project management as needed\nLearning the role of other disciplines and overall project requirements during the project lifecycle\nWith supervision may participate in multi-discipline squad checks of deliverables before issuance\nIdentifies and communicates scope change for discipline\nContinually communicates their individual forecasted staffing requirements for their assigned projects\nStrives to achieve the targeted billability goals for position\nProvides regular updates of individual marketing resume\nWhen requested, provides timely peer feedback to formal performance reviews\nRequirements\nPursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering\nCompleted at least 4 semesters of related engineering courses\n1 year or less prior experience\nDeveloping written and oral communication skills\nAbility to manage multiple tasks\nStrong ability to analyze and critically assess problems\nUnderstanding structural engineering concepts and principles\nGaining familiarity with all necessary codes, including but not limited to: IBC, ASCE, ACI 318, AISC and NDS\nGaining knowledge of construction materials, construction methods and industry standards\nGaining structural analysis experience including three-dimensional and solid finite element modeling and analysis\n\nOur Values: Be Inspiring Be Invested Be Improving Be Innovative Be Impactful Be Involved Be In Demand\nWho We Are\nOur Purpose: Creating Solutions, Improving Lives.
