You are self-driven, reliable, and excited by the prospect of providing an amazing climbing experience to the Edgeworks community.Driven by their passion to create unique movement, we are looking for someone who thrives in a team-oriented environment and has a can-do attitude. The Experienced Routesetter is tasked with mentoring lower level setters, and knows the importance of direct communication. They regularly provide and solicit feedback as a part of a collaborative routesetting team that supports one another's growth.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:GENERAL:Arrive on time and get to work in a timely mannerTake initiative during "down-time" to organize, clean & keep themselves busyHelp curate the best possible experience for our communityStrive to innovate and expand upon what the Routesetting department can doROUTESETTING AND MAINTENANCE:Set and/or remove 2-5 times per weekExperiment with different setting styles, innovating and co-creating with the rest of the team while being mindful of the varying needs of a wide range of types of climbers in the communityTake an active part in generating new ideas about how the Routesetting Department can differentiate itself and develop the Edgeworks Setting BrandFollow best practices for work area safety and follow all risk management protocolsParticipate in daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of Climbing terrain, Ropes, Routesetting Equipment / PPE.Ensure general maintenance of walls and work product, includingEnsure all holds and volumes are appropriately bolted to the wall and/or set screwed in accordance to Edgeworks standardsEnsure all routes and problems are set in a functionally creative manner that adheres to the Edgeworks setting brandEnsure all the workspaces are cleaned prior to being opened to the publicKeep the hold room and other workspaces clean and organizedSet for competitions and eventsTEAMWORK AND COMMUNICATION:Ability to communicate effectively, empathetically, and in a timely manner with the Routesetting Leadership team and other setters.Ability to manage difficult circumstances with a positive attitudeQUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:MUST-HAVES:Be at least 18 years of agePassion for climbing and the craft of routesettingAbility to seek and accept, as well as give, critical feedback in a professional mannerThe mentality of a team player and the ability to follow directionsA drive to grow professionallyAn understanding and ability to demonstrate climbing movement up toNICE-TO-HAVES:1-2 years of prior commercial routesetting experienceUSAC CertificationCWA CertificationAbility to demonstrate climbing movement up to 5.12 and V6PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Frequently perform Work at Height using climbing gear, rigging, lifts, or ladders.Walking up/down stairs and gripping with hands.Regularly climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and smelling.Frequent manual dexterity, using both hands simultaneously, reaching overhead, walking on various surfaces.Regularly lifting/moving of objects up to 5lbs, frequent lifting/moving up to 25lbs, and occasional lifting/moving up to 50lbs.Employment Status:Part-Time Hourly.
