This position may involve exposure to chemicals. Ascertains compliance with all Company and Governmental regulations. Conducts water testing, analyzes results and makes required adjustments. Responds to spills and assists in clean up. The Operator is also a first responder and may work during shut down periods. Required to assist with EHS Technician responsibilities as needed. Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and scheduled and unscheduled overtime.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nThis list of tasks is illustrative only and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by this position. Persons in this position will perform all other tasks as assigned.\n\nMonitor effluent equipment controls and make manual adjustments and corrections as necessary to comply with local, state and federal safe water discharge regulations.\nMonitor all Waste Waster pits in the plant and respond problems.\nMix acid for delivery to production areas as needed, maintain full tanks at proper specific gravity as required.\nWorking knowledge of acid delivery system, pumps, valves, etc.\nUnderstanding of sources of used acid, collection pits, pumps, valves and delivery lines to acid reclaim tans and delivery back to user areas at gravity required.\nMove up, around, and below machinery and facilities as necessary to visually observe, monitor, inspect, and adjust.\nAbility to accurately enter data using electronic, paper, and other means to record information.\nPerform daily housekeeping, hygiene & cleanliness procedures. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.\nDemonstrate a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous and professional attitude.\nQualifications\n\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
