This role is focused on hands-on implementation of media workflows that blend deterministic orchestration with AI/ML-driven, agentic behaviors. The Software Engineer will contribute to the design and delivery of cloud-native, event-driven services that enable dynamic decision-making, automation, and human-in-the-loop processes. Ideal candidates have strong experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms, and are comfortable implementing systems that integrate machine learning, large language models, or decision engines into real-world pipelines.Core Responsibilities Build features that support agentic behavior using AI/ML tools and APIsIntegrate tools such as large language models (LLMs), decision engines, and semantic searchImplement deterministic workflows using state machines or rules enginesBuild hybrid models that support both structured and adaptive logicDevelop modular components within distributed systemsFocus on reliability, observability, and performance at scaleContribute to platform infrastructure supporting media and content workflowsBuild services using Kafka, EventBridge, or SNS/SQS for asynchronous communicationEnsure systems are resilient, loosely coupled, and scalableDeliver clean, well-tested APIs and services in Java, Python, or Node.jsFollow cloud-native design principles with containerization and CI/CD pipelinesMaintain clear service boundaries and operational consistencyWork closely with product, engineering, and ML teams to implement solutionsTranslate defined requirements into production-ready codeParticipate in sprint planning, standups, and delivery checkpointsRequired Skills/Experience (Must-Haves) 3+ years of experience building distributed, cloud-native backend systemsExperience integrating AI/ML tools, large language models (LLMs), or decision engines into applicationsStrong understanding of AWS services and event-driven architectureProficiency in Java or Node.jsPython experienceFamiliarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD workflowsStrong communication skills with an emphasis on high-quality, maintainable codePreferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves) Experience in Media or Entertainment, especially studio or post-production environmentsBackground in multi-tenant platforms or shared infrastructureHands-on experience with machine learning systems, pipelines, or model integration in production environmentsFamiliarity with Agile and DevOps methodologiesExperience with Kafka, EventBridge, or SNS/SQSExperience implementing deterministic workflows using state machines or rules enginesExperience contributing to platform infrastructure supporting media and content workflowsKey Competencies & Behaviors Strong communication skillsFocus on delivering high-quality, maintainable codeAbility to work closely with product, engineering, and ML teamsAbility to translate defined requirements into production-ready codeFocus on reliability, observability, and performance at scaleAbility to build resilient, loosely coupled, and scalable systemsComfortable working within Agile and DevOps methodologiesWork Environment Location: onsite 4 days a week Glendale, CANot open to non-local candidatesCompensation & Benefits Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $70 and $86.
