C. § 1531Successful completion of Praxis II examsAdditional qualifications and/or alternatives as deemed necessary by the Board of Education and AdministrationEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Effectively Teach a diverse group of High School students (Grades 9-12)); subject areas include: Computer Science and Digital DesignPlan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students utilzing Odyssey Charter School and the Board of Education's educational philosophy and policiesCreates a safe and engaging classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of all studentsPrepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superiorEncourages all students to set and maintain standards of classroom behaviorInterprets and uses data from a variety of educational sources for the improvement of instruction.Assesses the accomplishments of all students on a regular basis and provides reports as required, as well as notifying parents of student progress when necessaryIdentifies the learning disabilities of all students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as requiredEncourages and assists in the development of independent study habitsCommunicates with all students concerning their academic and behavioral progressActs in ways, which are likely to promote students' feelings of self-worthTakes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilitiesMaintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulationRetains and prepares select student work for year-end art show in collaboration with other school art teachersSaves, maintains, and displays student work throughout the building every marking periodMaintains a professional relationship, working cooperatively with all school personnelMeets responsibilities as per contractual agreement and State lawPursues opportunities for professional growthMust report to work on time every workday, except as afforded by existing lawMust perform all duties as assigned during scheduled workdaysWorks cooperatively with all Odyssey stakeholdersPerforms other duties as assigned.
