LEOMINSTER PUBLIC SCHOOLSPRIEST STREET SCHOOL (KINDERGARTEN)FULL TIME 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEARSCHOOL NURSEPosition Description:Provides nursing services, performs health screenings and maintains required health recordswithin the school setting. The School Nurse creates a climate of physical and mental health andwell-being in the assigned school to help minimize student absences due to illness.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Assesses and evaluates student and staff health needs, including providing care to those who become ill or injured while at school, administering medications, making referrals to social services, communicating with parents as appropriate, and completing Workers Compensation Reports of Injury in cases of faculty or staff injuries.Conducts state mandated school screening programs and surveys.Maintains comprehensive school health records, including submitting statistics, as required, to the state Departments of Public Health and Elementary and Secondary Education, and to the school district.Educates the school community in healthy practices, and acts as a health resource for school personnel, students and familiesQualificiations:Current Massachusetts Nursing License - BSN preferredThree years nursing experience, preferably in a community, public health, or school settingDESE School Nurse Licensure preferredCPR and First Aid certificationSalary commensurate with related experience.
