Senior Test Automation Engineer – Python (Trading / Risk Platforms)Note: Candidates must have experience testing backend systems / APIs; UI-only automation profiles will not be considered.We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer with strong experience in Python-based test automation, supporting backend systems, APIs, and data workflows within capital markets / risk / trading environments. The role focuses on building scalable automation frameworks and ensuring quality across large technology change programs.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop automation frameworks and test suites using PythonAutomate testing of backend systems, APIs, and data pipelinesValidate data processing, transformations, and business logic across systemsWork closely with developers, BAs, and business teams to understand requirements and define test scenariosBuild and execute automated test scripts for functional, integration, and regression testingSupport UAT and release cycles, ensuring high-quality deliveryIdentify defects, perform root cause analysis, and support resolutionContribute to test strategy and automation best practices across programsMust-Have SkillsStrong experience in Python-based test automationExperience with automation frameworks (PyTest, Robot Framework, or similar)Strong experience in API testing (REST APIs, JSON validation)Strong SQL skills for data validation and testingExperience in test case design, execution, and defect managementUnderstanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, etc.)Domain Experience (Important)Exposure to Capital Markets / Investment Banking environmentsExperience or understanding of:Trading systems / Risk platforms / Data pipelinesFamiliarity with financial concepts such as:Trade lifecycle, risk data, reporting workflowsGood-to-HaveExperience in data validation and ETL testingExposure to performance or volume testingBasic understanding of Python scripting beyond testingExperience working in Agile environmentsExposure to event-driven systems (Kafka, messaging)Experience~7–12+ years
