Preconstruction & Proposal Manager (Engineering Services)
Job SummaryOur established engineering consulting firm is seeking a full-time Preconstruction & Proposal Manager to lead the coordination and delivery of proposals for engineering and inspection services. Based in Midtown Manhattan (hybrid schedule available), our firm supports high-profile projects across healthcare, high-end commercial, and residential real estate development.This role is responsible for managing the full proposal lifecycle, from opportunity review through submission, while coordinating closely with leadership, business development, and technical teams. While estimating inputs are developed by others, this position ensures proposals are complete, accurate, and strategically aligned.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple pursuits while communicating with both internal teams and external clients.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the end-to-end proposal process for engineering and inspection servicesReview RFPs/RFQs and coordinate internal response strategyCompile, organize, and finalize proposals, including scopes of work and fee inputsCoordinate with technical staff and estimators to gather required pricing and scope informationEnsure consistency, accuracy, and quality across all proposal submissionsTrack active opportunities and maintain CRM/proposal databasesCommunicate with clients during the proposal process as neededPrepare and manage proposal revisions and change ordersSupport business development efforts and pursuit strategyOversee and guide junior staff assisting with proposal preparationQualifications3–7+ years of experience in proposal management, preconstruction, or related role within A&E, engineering, or constructionWorking knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and project delivery processes (minimum 1 year experience)Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience coordinating across technical teams and stakeholdersProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience with CRM systems or proposal tracking tools is a plusBachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Construction Management, or related field)Compensation & BenefitsSalary range commensurate with experiencePerformance-based bonus potentialMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company contributionGenerous paid time off (PTO)Life and disability insuranceFlexible spending and health savings accountsParental leaveWhy Join UsJoin a well-established engineering firm with a strong presence in NYC’s most prominent developments.
