Must be efficient, self-motivated, and interested in learning. Field and office assignments for mining, environmental, and industrial projects throughout New York and New England. Must be comfortable working and driving on industrial sites. A mix of field and office work.Responsibilities:Develop writing skills and technical skills, understanding of relevant regulations and permits and permitting frameworkDevelop understanding of monitoring and sampling techniques and use of sampling and monitoring equipmentContractor oversightEnvironmental compliance audits and site assessments; stormwater inspections, monitoring, and sampling; bulk storage reviews and written plan preparationPrepare documents in accordance with project objective and company standardsRequirements:Bachelor's of Science, Geology or Mining/Geological Engineering3-5 years experience permitting mines in New York StateTechnical writing, excellent written/oral communication skillsExperience with DOT source reports, consolidated rock quarriesTravel required, typically day trips. Occasional weekend or evening work.Access to transportation, valid driver's license, clean driving record. Ideal candidate will live local to the Saratoga Springs Office.Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform field work and be able to carry 50+ lbs. There is walking, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, lifting, and bending. In the latter case, the incumbent must be able to handle buckets of water. Periods of hiking, carrying equipment, swimming, and/or standing may be required.
