Senior International Tax Accountant

OverviewIn this role, you will perform various direct and indirect international tax research, compliance, reconciliation, and planning tasks.Job Responsibilities:Coordinate tax return compliance in various international taxing jurisdictionsPrepare international tax provision for all international entitiesResearch, advise, and summarize international transaction-based taxes, including withholding taxes, VAT, GST, taxes on importations/exportations, etc.Coordinate and facilitate tax payments to tax authorities in various international jurisdictionsPerforms and supervises the reconciliation of various international tax accounts in the general ledgerLearn, maintain, and improve tax calculations, processes, workpapers, reconciliations, etc.Provide support with the facilitation of information in transfer pricing studiesReview tax language in contracts and advise with appropriate rates, tax concepts, etc.Facilitate tax information to project teams, internal stakeholders, external firms, etc. Respond to information requests and notices from tax authoritiesSupport with tax audits from international taxing authoritiesParticipate in legal entity management and related tasksProvide support with tax planning on appropriately minimizing tax exposures and riskEducation & Years of Experience:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or similar fields.Three to five years of experience in tax, accounting or related role is preferredCPA license and/or other international tax certifications are preferredTo thrive in this role, you'll need:Understanding of cross-border transactions and related tax impactExperience involving direct and indirect international taxationAbility to analyze invoices, contracts, and job cost data to determine proper tax treatmentKeep pace with current and evolving country-by-country international tax rulesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and data reconciliationExperience with ERP systems; exposure to job cost or construction accounting is a plusStrong attention to detail and organizational skills, with ability to meet recurring filing deadlinesEffective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionallyAbility to learn and apply accounting and tax concepts related to the construction industryAt Haskell, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, professional development opportunities, and more.
