Job Title: Associate, Investment OperationsDepartment: Investment AdministrationReports To: Associate Director, Investment OperationsFLSA Code: Non-ExemptEstimated Salary: $70.000 - $80,000Job Summary:Leverage advanced technical expertise in Computer Science, Finance, or Technology to modernize and optimize operational workflows within an asset-management operations environment. Apply strong analytical and systems-driven problem-solving skills to streamline processes, enhance data integrity, and reduce operational risk. Deliver comprehensive portfolio accounting, administration, and multi-currency reconciliation for institutional accounts and mutual funds. Provide full lifecycle support for domestic and international trade settlements across equities, fixed income, FX, and derivatives. Oversee and coordinate corporate actions and proxy voting, while managing end-to-end security setup, maintenance, pricing, and reporting with a focus on accuracy, automation, and continuous process improvement. Cohen & Steers is committed to an inclusive culture, valuing diversity in support of our people and clients.Major Responsibilities/Activities:Daily transaction and position reconciliations as well as monthly position, market value and accrual reconciliations with timely research and resolution of discrepancies with custodians, brokers or other partiesInput daily cash entries into accounting system (FX, dividend, expenses, income, cash flows)Monitor, analyze and prepare communications related to the processing of various corporate actions eventsWork with custodians, brokers and traders to identify, investigate and resolve trade settlement issuesDaily utilization of Omgeo suite of products for trade affirmation and confirmationLiaise with Portfolio Managers, Traders and Custodians on a daily basisNew security setup and security master maintenanceParticipate in daily end of day process to manage the data integrity of cash, positions and trades in accounting and trading systems from current day to next business dayPrepare daily pricing files utilizing various external pricing sourcesProxy voting instructions for all securities held by the firmPrepare audit documentation as neededFrequent communication with internal departments (portfolio managers, trading desk, client service, technology and members of senior management) and external groups (custodians, clients, service providers)Responsible for maintaining daily and monthly oversight checklistsAssist as needed with special requests/reports/projectsMinimum Requirements: Minimum 1-3 years of related experienceStrong and effective written and verbal communication skillsB.S. in Business Administration, Finance, Technology or related fieldsProficiency with Microsoft ExcelAbility to understand technological work flow processes across several platformsEnthusiasm and aptitude to become proficient with CNS’ portfolio accounting system (SimCorp Dimension), trading platform (CRD OMS), portfolio reconciliation system (Trintech Frontier), Bloomberg terminal and other internal systemsMotivated and willing to contribute with team responsibilitiesAbility to organize, adapt and prioritize workload to meet deadlinesExperience with Python, SQL, and VBA is preferredDemonstrates inclusive behaviors in support of a culture that values diverse perspectivesAgrees to comply with the firm’s hybrid work policy (“work from home policy,” as aligned with the Company’s employee handbook), which currently requires reporting to the Company’s New York City office four (4) days per week, with one (1) remote workday permittedNote: This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
