Job DetailsDescriptionKnowledge and Experience:1 to 3 years progressive HR experienceProficient with MS Office SuiteWorking knowledge of HRIS and payroll systemsUltiPro (UKG) knowledge helpfulPayroll processing knowledgeDemonstrated background of general HR practices, FMLA/LOA, Benefits and RecruitmentMust have high level of attention to detailsAble to organize and complete tasks to set standardsKnowledge and understating of HR practices and policiesLabor union experience preferredTransportation experience is helpfulMust maintain confidentiality and safeguarding of sensitiveSkillsMust have effective communication skills, both written and oralExcellent time management skills with ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlinesAble to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the business; to include weekend and holidaysDelivery of excellent customer service to fellow employees that have general questions and concernsAn ethical approach to HR practicesStrong interpersonal skillsIntermediate computer skillsMust be able to initiate troubleshooting when needed and provide resolutionMust be self-motivated and be able to work without direct supervision at all timesAbility to work both as a team member and on own initiativeMust be willing to travel between facilities, based on business need for training, meetings, PTO coverage, etc.Key AccountabilitiesAssist with New Hire Orientation (collecting documentation, assisting with HRIS (UKG) enrollment)Update new hire tracker as employees complete pre-employment requirements and sending communication to new hires regarding Orientation.Accountable for accurately tracking bargaining unit attendance in compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) – operations, training and maintenance.Communicate regularly with the operations and maintenance department regarding employees attendance record. Notify management when employees are out of compliance with the CBA.Be a liaison between management and employees to resolve employee inquiriesBackup for accurate tracking of FMLA requestsFirst point of contact for HRIS (UKG) system inquiries from employeesAssist employees with updating UKG and resetting passwordsAssist employees with payroll questions (i.e. review time sheets and/or print paycheck)Accurately name and upload documents to employees’ profile in UKGDemonstrate employee advocacy and develop a reputation as a neutral and approachable HR professional serving all employees.Accountable for timely and accurate postings on HR bulletin board, to include removal of “expired” material.Create process documentation and work instructions for all tasks performedAssist with employee benefits programs consistent with corporate guidelines and informs employee of benefits.Assist employees with uploading dependent documentation to the benefits portalAssist with recruiting events and new hire processesAssist with events and projects associated with organizational culture developmentCoordinate employee appreciation events under the leadership of the Employee Engagement ManagerEngage in employee development activitiesAssist with internal communication to enable process improvement related to increasing engagement and building an inclusive, supportive workplaceAssist with maintaining and documenting electronic employee records to view past and current personnel records.Assist employees returning from leave of absence by coordinating drug test and training with the Safety and Training department, when applicableOther duties as assignedSchedulePosition is 100% onsite Must be able to work Monday - Friday from 8AM - 5PM Additional StatementsDrug and alcohol screening: Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
