We also provide U.S. defense and space awareness through ballistic missile testing, guided weapon and aeronautical tests and experiments to defend the United States to ensure our nation’s safety.\nAs a member of the Sustaining Engineering team, you would join other smart, talented, and dedicated engineers that pride themselves in analyzing the most difficult challenges for the launch-test range while developing and delivering solutions to meet the needs of the US Space Force and their customers.\nThis position is located at Patrick SFB, Florida\nThis position is eligible for a (hybrid) telecommuting schedule.\nEssential Job Functions:\nProvide Systems Engineering leadership to a multi-disciplined team in the areas of subsystem integration, architecture, requirements and test and evaluation in support of all major subsystems (i.e., Command Destruct/Positive Control, Communications, Data Handling, Optics, Radar, Range Safety, Surveillance, Telemetry, Timing & Sequencing, and Weather).\nManage and lead a multi-disciplined team to accomplish assigned tasks and objectives\nSupport the Systems Engineering Manager in maintenance of the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and ensure lower-level Systems Engineering processes are updated as needed. Ensure compliance to SE process with on the Eastern Range.\nPerform resource management duties to include review of Basis of Estimates (BOEs), proposals, and project schedules to ensure Systems Engineering support and staffing is adequately addressed to ensure successful task execution\nResolve variances between actuals vs planned charges in support of Systems-Engineering assigned tasks\nProvide leadership and guidance in engineering project prioritization and spend plan and technology road map efforts\nCoordinate with external Government customers to resolve issues, as needed\nProvide inputs to and support Joint Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (JSEIT) meetings, Engineering Review Boards (ERBs), Subsystem IPT meetings, Program Management Reviews (PMRs), etc.\nDevelop monthly activity and award fee reports\nEnsure assigned resources are current on timekeeping inputs, training and other administrative tasks\nPerform and provide annual performance appraisals including the assignment of goals and the allocation of merit increases\nResolve personnel issues in a timely manner\nInitiate and present performance awards to recognize outstanding performance\nPerform quality checks of Systems Engineering products to ensure quality products are being provided\nOther duties as assigned\nRequired Skills:\nAbility to learn quickly\nStrong organizational and communication skills\nAbility to work independently\nCreative thinking and problem-solving skills\nAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch between tasks quickly\nAbility to deal with ambiguity and change\nRequired Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering or match (STEM) related field\nMaster’s degree preferred; Systems Engineering certification preferred\nMinimum 10 years of related engineering experience to include eight years of supervisory experience\nFamiliarity with Systems Engineering tools such as MBSE, System Architect and DOORS preferred\nExperience with DoD customers, e.g. knowledge and experience with customer technical processes, business practices, operational processes and organizations\nKnowledge of DoD contracting and management\nExperience leading technical working groups and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).\nBackground in Systems Engineering, Product Team project leadership, and/or program management\nOther Desired Qualifications:\nExperience with Space Launch or Launch Support Systems\nAbility to learn quickly\nStrong organizational and communication skills\nAbility to work independently\nCreative thinking and problem-solving skills\nAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and switch between tasks quickly\nAbility to deal with ambiguity and change\nWillingness to travel[SB1]\nStrong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Project) Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret (or Top) Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship\nValid U.S. Driver’s License require\nBenefits of Working at RGNext:\nRGNext offers our team of experienced, professional employees an environment of challenging, stimulating and personally and professionally rewarding career opportunities and growth.
