The Material Handler should also serve as a working team member and individual contributor to the overall team’s success.\nTypical Duties and Responsibilities:\nMaintain inventory by identifying, labeling and placing materials and supplies in stock\nLocate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders\nPrepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading and securing product\nMaintain forklifts and other material handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections\nCross train to learn multiple functions in the production environment\nLoad and unload equipment and supplies as directed, as well as delivery trucks ensuring that each delivery matches the company purchase order\nClean and organize shop and other areas as required\nComply with company and regulatory agency environmental, health and safety standards\nInvestigate inventory discrepancies and identify solutions to prevent future occurrences\nEnsure that The Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activities\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required\nCurrent and valid OSHA forklift operation certificate, or the ability to acquire certification\nExperience in inventory or logistics preferred\nSpecific Expectations:\nExcellent internal and external customer service\nAbility to work effectively with others\nAbility to multi-task in a changing environment\nAbility to work a flexible schedule to meet job requirements\nAbility to work under pressure to meet deadlines\nStrong time management and organizational skills\nRequires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward\n\nDisclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
