Position Overview
The Accounts Specialist Ill is responsible for performing and reviewing daily and monthly reconciliations of departmental accounts, processing receivables, preparing journal entries, reviewing and monitoring accounts, researching discrepancies and reviewing system reports.
What you will be doing
Performs and reviews daily reconciliation reports of departmental accounts
Reviews and maintains accounts to ensure proper budget allocation; prepares budget transfers
Researches account discrepancies and follows through to appropriate resolution
Prepares, reconciles and processes journal entries
Compiles data reports, as needed
Applies incoming payments to Accounts Receivables
Prepares requisitions; creates chartstrings as needed
Works on year-end tasks as assigned
Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of successful: accounting experience; or Associate's degree and two (2) years of related accounting experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge and understanding of the College's organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
Knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and the ability to apply this knowledge to work situations
Ability to prepare complete and accurate accounting statements
Ability to maintain complex records, to assemble and organize data
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to speak effectively to provide customer service to students, employees, or organizations
Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office applications and possess strong computer skills
Ability to work with students, faculty and staff
