Senior Payroll SpecialistAs a Senior Payroll Specialist you will ensure accurate and timely processing of employee wages and benefits, including calculating hours worked, withholding taxes, and managing deductions. Your role will also be a crucial role in compliance with payroll regulations and providing support to employees with payroll-related inquiries. Responsibilities:Prepare and submit paper payroll checks and electronic direct deposit.Collect banking information for direct deposit setup and initiate deposits on paydaysFamiliarize yourself and keep current with the taxation of salaries, benefits and other factorsProcess and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specificationsMaintain and document all payroll recordsConduct semi-annual audits of all payroll recordsReconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reportsReconcile general ledger with regard to payroll transactionsDetect and process issues related to uncollected payrollRespond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concernsQualifications:Undergraduate Degree in Accounting preferredMicrosoft office, Word, ExcelExperience with payroll processing and wage attachmentExcellent organization and mathematical skillsFamiliarity with Windows-based computer programs a mustEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
