Position Type: Student Support Services (Certified)/Special Education for Assisted Program Date Posted: 5/22/2026 Location: Park View Elementary Date Available: 08/18/2026 Closing Date: Once Filled District: Community Consolidated District 89 Description: This teacher will provide Special Education services at Park View Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. This teacher will work within a self-contained special education classroom designing and implementing individualized instruction for students in this program. Job Summary: Our Special Education Teachers work with students who have learning, mental, emotional, or physical needs. Our educators adapt to general education lessons and teach various subjects to students with disabilities to ensure their educational experience meets their needs. In this role you will be in a self-contained classroom with students that have intellectual disabilities, autism or other developmental concerns. The teacher is compassionate, flexible, and committed to helping every student reach their full potential. Qualifications: All applicants for this position are required to meet Illinois teacher certification requirements that include a Bachelor's degree and LBS1 Special Education Certification is required, EL endorsement is preferred. Salary and Benefits: All certified staff are placed on a salary schedule according to education and experience as part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The starting BA, 1 salary for the 2026-2027 year is $57,220.00 Certified staff experience 12 sick days and 4 personal days of paid time off. All full-time staff have the privilege of partaking in our health and dental insurance programs; these include up to 90% Board paid health insurance for the employee and 100% Board paid dental insurance for the individual staff member.
