Application Engineer

Our client, a growing electronics manufacturer near Elgin, IL, is seeking a Applications Engineer to join their engineering team. This role is heavily focused on applications engineering and customer-facing technical support for advanced electronic display and PCB-related solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with electronics, PCB design/layout, and the ability to work directly with customers to support product integration and technical problem-solving.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, technology-driven environment where employees have visibility, ownership, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on projects and customers.Salary: 85-100k Responsibilities:Serve as the primary technical resource for customers regarding electronic product applicationsSupport customers with product selection, integration, troubleshooting, and technical recommendationsReview customer specifications, schematics, PCB layouts, and design requirementsAssist with custom product development and engineering project coordinationCollaborate with internal engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful project executionProvide technical documentation, testing support, and application guidanceWork with advanced electronic display and interface technologiesSupport PCB-related troubleshooting and integration effortsParticipate in product validation, prototyping, and continuous improvement initiativesHelp manage engineering timelines, project updates, and customer communicationQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related technical fieldExperience in applications engineering, project engineering, or customer-facing technical engineering rolesStrong electronics and PCB experience requiredAbility to read schematics, datasheets, and technical drawingsExperience supporting customers or working cross-functionally with sales and engineering teamsStrong communication and problem-solving skillsExperience within displays, embedded systems, or electronic components is a plusQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information
