Our mission is to democratize high-speed flight by making supersonic travel flexible, accessible, and sustainable. We believe that rapid, on-demand, point-to-point global mobility will become the new standard for moving people and goods across the planet. To achieve this, we are integrating our advanced airframe and engine technologies—which include Duality™, our proprietary dual‑use propulsion system—with a new flight operations model to make supersonic transport as efficient and economical as commercial air travel is today. In the near term, we are developing adaptable, high‑speed systems to close aircraft performance gaps for the United States government.\n\nWHO WE ARE:\n\nWe’re a team of passionate engineers dedicated to advancing aerospace. We’re generalists with specialist depth, united by a flat structure and a shared obsession with building things that work well. We move fast, stay pragmatic, and let engineering excellence speak louder than hierarchy.\n\nWHO YOU ARE\nYou are an integration‑minded engineer who thrives at the aircraft level and enjoys owning technically ambiguous problems from concept through test. You’re comfortable operating across disciplines—structures, propulsion, avionics, and flight sciences—and you care deeply about building tools, processes, and analyses that teams actually rely on.\n\nYou take pride in creating clarity out of complexity: turning incomplete inputs into credible models, turning evolving designs into defensible mass properties, and turning program milestones into well‑run technical gate reviews. You’re equally comfortable working in spreadsheets, code, and design reviews—and you enjoy being close to the hardware.\n\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nLead the development, maintenance, and automation of weight & balance tools, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and usability across the program.\n\nOwn mass properties tracking, prediction, and reporting throughout design, build, and test, serving as a source of truth, interfacing with Teamcenter PLM and inventory management tools.\n\nManage mechanical design guidelines that ensure common design practices across the structures, systems, and avionics teams. Downselect, document, and enable CAD and design practices.\n\nManage standard materials selections, standard hardware selections, and standard design element selection by identifying designs that meet requirements and availability, validating designs through test, and ensuring the design team has CAD tools for setting usage.\n\nSupport structural layout and configuration development with guidance from senior engineers.\n\nCollaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and test teams to resolve system‑level tradeoffs and integration challenges.\n\nSupport systems integration and packaging efforts, including system space reservations, clash resolution, and aircraft‑level mounting and arrangement concepts.\n\nParticipate in design reviews, manufacturing support, and testing activities.\n\nWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR\n2–7 years of experience in aerospace mechanical engineering, aircraft design, or a closely related field.\n\nStrong understanding of mass properties and aircraft mechanical design.\n\nExperience building or owning engineering tools used for analysis and decision‑making.\n\nAbility to lead technical efforts independently while collaborating effectively across disciplines.\n\nClear communicator who can drive alignment in design reviews and program milestones.\n\nFlexibility to work in a fast‑paced environment.\n\nHands‑on mindset with a bias toward execution and continuous improvement.\n\nExperience with systems integration, packaging, or aircraft layout.\n\nExposure to certification, conformance, or government aerospace programs.\n\nProgramming experience (Python, MATLAB, etc.) for analysis and tool automation.\n\nCAD and PLM experience (NX, CATIA, Creo, Teamcenter, 3DX, Windchill, etc.).\n\nPERKS & BENEFITS\nComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, including Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).\n\n401(k) program and transparent stock option plan.\n\nSelf‑managed and flexible time‑off policy, including PTO, paid holidays, and sick time.\n\nFlexible work environment.\n\nADDITIONAL INFORMATION\nAt Astro Mechanica, we highly value in‑office work to foster collaboration and strengthen our company culture. We consider working in the office five days a week an essential part of the employee's role.\n\nAstro Mechanica is an equal opportunity employer. We proudly recruit and hire a diverse workforce and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.\n\n#J-18808-Ljbffr","company":"Astromecha","rawCompany":"astromecha","city":"Millbrae","state":"CA","isRemote":false,"isActive":true,"createdAt":"2026-06-17T03:44:12.502Z","occupations":[{"code":"17-2141.00","title":"Mechanical Engineers","slug":"mechanical-engineers"},{"code":"17-2011.00","title":"Aerospace Engineers","slug":"aerospace-engineers"},{"code":"17-2199.00","title":"Engineers, All Other","slug":"engineers-all-other"}],"industries":[{"code":"336411","title":"Aircraft Manufacturing","slug":"aircraft-manufacturing"},{"code":"336413","title":"Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing","slug":"other-aircraft-parts-and-auxiliary-equipment-manufacturing"},{"code":"336414","title":"Guided Missile and Space Vehicle Manufacturing","slug":"guided-missile-and-space-vehicle-manufacturing"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Mechanical Integration Engineer","description":"We’re a team of passionate engineers dedicated to advancing aerospace.\nWe’re generalists with specialist depth, united by a flat structure and a shared obsession with building things that work well.
