Local Facility Dispatcher
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented automotive transportation dispatcher to coordinate and manage our Los Angeles satellite office. This person would be responsible for assigning loads, communicating with drivers, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely and efficient deliveries. Other responsibilities would include, opening and closing the office, managing cars coming in and out of the warehouse, work with internal sales staff on capacity and booking work, resolve issues such as delays, breakdowns, changes, and quote and bid on local work.
Primary Responsibilities:
Help dispatch local fleet on loads
Monitor routes, transit times, delivery schedules
Resolve issues such as delays, breakdowns, or changes
Manage vehicles entering and exiting the warehouse
Monitor driver payroll
Data entry entering new orders and revisions
Trouble Shooting potential issues with clients
Calculating, composing and submitting quotes
Researching and reporting load statuses
Taking client calls
Supporting Sales Managers
Travel to off-site events and shows for client and driver support.
Requirements:
Possible travel to various sites to support events like the Los Angeles Auto show, Pebble Beach Car week etc. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:
Candidate must have an ability to identify potential issues and solve them. Solid communication skills are key as candidate will be required to interact with drivers and customers. This person will need to be able to think on their feet, have patience, and possess a can-do attitude, yet know when it is time to ask for assistance. Other necessary skills include:
Excellent communication skills
A solid understanding of MS Excel, Outlook and Word
Strong data entry skills
Strong proofing skills
Ability to identify issues and trouble shoot them
Ability to work in a team atmosphere
Long-Term Career Oriented
Available to work weekends
Experience:
Knowledge of the transportation industry or logistics a plus.
Prior dispatch experience a plus
Former trucking experience a plus
Skills:
Microsoft products, Word, Excel, Power Point.
Proficient with computers and strong aptitude for learning new applications.
Industry certifications or similar field a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
