Full-time Medical Assistant FloatAnne Arundel Dermatology is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant Float to support our North Atlanta Dermatology clinics across multiple locations. This opportunity is intended for an experienced Dermatology Medical Assistant who is flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working with different providers and teams based on clinic needs.The Medical Assistant Float will assist Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers with patient care and in-office dermatology procedures while traveling between our Duluth, Suwanee, Buford, Cumming, and Marietta offices as needed. This role requires flexibility to travel to all five locations and the ability to step into different clinic environments seamlessly. Please note: prior hands-on dermatology Medical Assistant experience is required for this role. We believe in providing our new associates with intensive hands-on training and long-term career growth opportunities from within.ResponsibilitiesRoom patients and complete accurate clinical intake and documentationObtain and record vital signs and relevant patient informationSupport efficient patient flow throughout the clinicPrepare procedure rooms, trays, instruments, and equipment according to provider specificationsAssist physicians and advanced practice providers during medical and surgical dermatology proceduresDraw up medications and assist with the administration of local anestheticsPrepare, label, and route pathology and laboratory specimens to the appropriate lab based on patient insurance requirementsRespond to patient questions in person and by phone in accordance with provider guidanceReview and address clinical task lists, nurse line messages, phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental communications in a timely mannerAccurately document patient encounters and scribe provider notes in the EMRClean, sterilize, calibrate, and maintain medical instruments and equipment according to established schedules, maintaining required documentationManage medication and clinical supplies, including ordering, stocking, inventory tracking, and removal of expired itemsMaintain infection control standards and ensure exam rooms, supply rooms, and cabinets are fully stocked and organizedMaintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all timesPerform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operationsQualificationsAbility to triage patient concerns and communicate findings appropriately to providersWorking knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and Bloodborne Pathogen standardsExperience obtaining and recording vital signs and preparing patients for clinical visitsExperience administering injections and assisting with in-office proceduresUnderstanding of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-10 codesFamiliarity with office financial policies and insurance-related processesBasic computer proficiency with experience using EMR systemsAbility to operate standard office equipment including computers, scanners, copiers, and fax machinesStrong verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English requiredAbility to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environmentDemonstrated ability to work professionally and collaboratively with providers, staff, patients, and visitorsAbility to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work both independently and as part of a teamAbility to follow oral and written instructions with attention to detailReliable transportation and ability to travel to satellite offices as neededLicensure/Certifications/EducationEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredCompletion of a Medical Assistant program preferred (CMA)Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or a bachelor's degree in a pre-med or pre-PA track preferredCPR certification preferredOne to two years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant (Required)Prior dermatology experience (Required)Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workdayFrequent bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, and use of hands and fingersAbility to communicate effectively in person and by phoneAbility to handle clinical materials, instruments, and suppliesAbility to lift and carry up to 30 poundsExposure to infectious organisms and potential hazards including chemicals and sharp instruments in a clinical environmentBenefits available to employees working 30+ hours per weekMedical, dental, and vision insurance effective the first of the month following date of hireShort-term and long-term disability coverageVoluntary life insurance for employee, spouse, and childCritical illness and hospital indemnity coverageCompany-provided basic life and AD&D insurancePaid time off and paid holidaysRetirement savings planEmployee discounts on cosmetic services and products
