This role plays a critical part in developing and standardizing testing methodologies across multiple laboratories while driving technical excellence, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing throughout the organization.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCapability Development Support\n\nDefine user requirements and specifications.\nLead cross-disciplinary design reviews and manage build and commissioning plans.\nExecute full certification activities, including uncertainty and guardbanding analysis, Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), and correlation to engine dynamometers or reference systems.\nRelease capability statements following successful certification.\nEstablish maintenance and calibration plans, lifecycle traceability, and change baselines.\n\nGlobal Methodologies, Documentation & Coaching\n\nAuthor method standards, parameter dictionaries, and data schemas in alignment with Data/IT and Product Line teams.\nCreate reference packages including schematics, style-guided control logic, run cards, and datasets under version control.\nDeliver structured training programs, including classroom and on-rig instruction.\nCertify operator competence for new methods and capabilities.\nMentor Engineer I and Engineer II team members.\nConduct design and documentation reviews and support employee development through growth assignments.\n\nTechnical Support & Stakeholder Engagement\n\nLead complex Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and 8D investigations spanning multiple subsystems or laboratory locations.\nImplement design and process corrections to prevent recurrence of issues.\nCoordinate retrofits and upgrades while minimizing operational downtime.\nPerform operational qualification (OQ) and performance qualification (PQ) style re-qualification activities.\nAlign capability roadmaps with product and technology plans.\nCommunicate technical trade-offs and readiness timelines to stakeholders.\nCoordinate suppliers for subsystem integration and evaluate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) results.\n\nContinuous Improvement & HSE Excellence\n\nImprove throughput, Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), and energy consumption per test through automation, warm-start routines, and parameter optimization.\nStandardize and expand hardware and software module reuse, golden configurations, and template libraries.\nIntegrate engineered safeguards, interlocks, and fail-safe mechanisms into system designs.\nLead safety reviews and ensure timely closure and verification of corrective actions.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\nEducation\n\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Software/Controls Engineering, or equivalent.\n\nExperience\n\n4-7 years of experience in rig or method development with cross-disciplinary integration.\n\nCertifications\n\nSix Sigma certification.\n\nRequired Skills & Knowledge\n\nStrong engineering fundamentals, including measurement systems, signal integrity, calibration principles, control logic awareness, and system safety.\nProficiency with laboratory tools, including DAQ systems, PLC/HMI platforms, sensors, and wiring tools.\nStrong proficiency with LabVIEW frameworks, PLC standards, HIL platforms, and advanced instrumentation.\nFamiliarity with structured problem-solving methodologies, including RCA and 8D.\nStrong documentation practices, version control discipline, and attention to detail.\nCalibration planning and analysis expertise.\nConfiguration management experience.\nAbility to support training, coaching, and knowledge transfer.\nStrong cross-site collaboration and communication skills.\nDemonstrated commitment to safety and procedural compliance.\nEnglish proficiency suitable for global collaboration and technical communication.\n\nWhy Join Us?\n\nThis role offers the opportunity to influence global testing methodologies, lead complex technical initiatives, mentor developing engineers, and contribute to the advancement of world-class laboratory capabilities in a collaborative and innovation-driven environment.\n\nApply today to help shape the future of testing capability development and engineering excellence.\n\nPay Range\n\nThe salary range for this role is between $92,300.00 and $115,400.00.\n\n*Note that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
