Our core business focuses on cleanup and mitigation efforts for recovery from fire damage, roof leaks, flooding, pipe bursts, and post-disaster remediation due to severe weather. We exclusively serve commercial sectors including hospitality, senior housing, healthcare, commercial offices, municipalities, multifamily living, and institutional markets."SUMMARY:The Commercial Roofing Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates for commercial roofing projects, including both insurance claims and bid reroof work. This role supports the Division Director by analyzing drawings, specifications, and site conditions; performing detailed roofing takeoffs; determining total project costs for labor, materials, and equipment; EDGE software for bid opportunities.The Estimator collaborates closely with project management, subcontractors, production, and internal pre-bid teams to ensure complete scopes, timely submissions, and smooth project handoff, while also meeting with insurance adjusters to negotiate and finalize claim values. This position requires strong knowledge of commercial construction practices and building codes, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Receive new assignments from the Division DirectorPrepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial roofing projects for both insurance and reroof bid projectsConduct detailed analyses of project specifications, material lists and drawingsPrepare estimates utilizing EDGE Software for bid reroof projectsCollaborate with Project management team and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimatesPerform roofing takeoffs through drawings, prints, and other measures including site visits as neededDetermine the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for commercial roofingCollaboration with production team for planning, organizing, and scheduling project workManage pre-qualification and pre-bid submissionsEnsure that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadlineClient communication (local & corporate) at specified intervals to set and maintain expectationsCommunicate internally with the client expectations to ensure a smooth transition into productionWork with internal Prebid review team to finalize estimates and distribute to the clientAssist in subcontractor and vendor selection and vetting as neededPrepare turnover package and complete project hand-off to Project ManagerRe-engage as necessary during production to review progressPerforms other related duties and assignments as requiredQUALIFICATIONS:Experience as a Commercial Roofing Estimator in general construction field as a general contractor representativeExtensive knowledge of established construction and maintenance practices, procedures, and techniques as well as applicable local, state and federal building codes and legislationStrong communication skills; thorough and attentive to detailsAble to prioritize and multi-task, proactive and deadline oriented and interpersonal skillsMust possess strong negotiation skillsTime management, multitasking, and interpersonal skillsAbility to closely collaborate with other project teams and stakeholdersDemonstrated experience with EDGE SoftwareAbility to read and interpret documents such as work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsComputer skills including internet, e-mail, (MS Outlook) MS Excel, and MS Word EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; or (5+) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of at least five years of commercial roofing estimating for bid reroofs and/or roof new construction. Knowledge or experience estimating commercial roofing insurance claims a plus.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
