This role focuses on developing and maintaining integrations that extract, transform, and deliver product data from PLM/EDM platforms into our aPriori software products.\r\nWorking within a small integration team, the engineer will work with existing internally developed software components that interface with PLM environments, enabling reliable access to engineering data within the PLM system. It is expected the engineer will have experience of CAD structures, metadata, product structures, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).\r\nThe ideal candidate combines hands-on PLM system experience with strong programming capability, allowing them to understand engineering data models while configuring robust integration solutions.Location:Belfast, NI (Hybrid) or Remote UKResponsibilities:\r\nPartner with Professional Services, Product Engineering, Customer Success, and customer technical teams to analyze system requirements and define integration specifications.\r\nDevelop and maintain reliable, scalable software solutions that integrate aPriori applications with customer PLM/PDM systems.\r\nImplement connector technologies that automate the extraction and transfer of engineering metadata and CAD files into aPriori workflows.\r\nDeploy internally developed connector frameworks and ensure compatibility across diverse customer environments (cloud and on-premises).\r\nProvide technical guidance during customer implementation projects and support troubleshooting when required.\r\nDesign, develop, and test integration solutions that meet requirements for stability, performance, monitoring, and security.\r\nMonitor system performance, logging, and error handling across deployed integrations.\r\nReview and enhance existing integrations to improve reliability, observability, performance, and security posture.\r\nFollow and contribute to software engineering best practices, including code quality, testing standards, and secure development principles.\r\nCreate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for solution design, implementation, maintenance, and customer usage.\r\nCommunicate clearly and effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure solution alignment, timely delivery, and high-quality customer experience.\r\nRequirements:Proficiency with Java programming and familiarity with additional languages such as Python or C#.\r\nStrong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles.\r\nFamiliarity with functional programming features in Java, along with common Java frameworks and libraries.\r\nStrong understanding of software design patterns and clean code principles.\r\nProficiency in collections, generics, exception handling, and multithreading.\r\nKnowledge of memory management, garbage collection and performance tuning.\r\nExperience using APIs and SDKs for system integrations.\r\nProficiency with Git for version control, and SDLC practices for release management.\r\nKnowledge of integration methodologies and tools (e.g., APIs, web services).\r\nWorking knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL), queries and data modeling concepts.\r\nUnderstanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks (e.g. GDPR, ISO 27001)\r\nExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
