Powered by our people and our Partners, we amplify our effectiveness and our impact.\n\nDescription\nAs a Case Analyst, you will exercise independent judgment in forensically analyzing evidence in accident reconstruction, biomechanics, construction defect and premises liability accidents and render case findings and opinions. You will be responsible for reviewing complex documents such as a variety of reports, depositions, legal documents, scientific illustrations and drawings, and will compare those findings to legal codes, regulations and case law to further support the case findings. You will be expected to accurately and succinctly communicate these complex findings, along with legal and scientific/engineering principles, to forensic experts and legal professionals (including attorneys and insurance carrier representatives).\n\nEssential Functions\nSummarize and analyze forensic evidence in accident reconstruction, biomechanics, construction defect and premises liability accidents and render case findings and opinions;\nAnalyze documents and exhibits for an internal expert team to review and provide comments;\nRetrieve relevant legal codes, regulations and standards and research relevant data to develop theories of liability and causation relative to the accident(s);\nAs directed, collect, review, and analyze data charts, budgets, and other presentation materials;\nAssist and support experts with research for testimony and/or due diligence\nResearch and analyze sources such as prior casework or major determinations;\nResearch legal and engineering databases for applicable or relevant materials to support conclusions;\nSummarize complex topics and simplify for non-technical consumption;\nAccurately and succinctly communicate complex case findings, along with legal and scientific/engineering principles, to forensic experts and legal professionals (including attorneys and insurance carrier representatives);\nParticipate in company-wide or site-wide administrative projects and/or training as directed;\nMay be responsible for creating reports and distributing them on a regular schedule; and\nMay be responsible for hiring, firing, managing or directing the work of others.\n\nOther Duties\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.\n\nRequirements\nHigh school graduate, college degree preferred (some college is required)\n1 to 3 years’ experience preferred in a professional/scientific services firm, such as a law firm or engineering consulting\nWorking knowledge of the legal system and application of these principles, including case law, legal proceedings, and interpretation of legal documents\nUnderstanding and application of scientific and engineering principles in the fields of safety engineering physics, accident reconstruction engineering, biomechanical engineering, or human factors\nExcellent grammatical skills are required, and the ability to learn and operate communication software, and equipment\nIntermediate Proficiency in Email, Word Processing, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, project management, database, and/or and other professional software required\nStrong business communication skills required and ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nThe ability to sit at a desk up to 80% of the time\nThe ability to stand and walk up to 20% of the time\nThe ability to be confined in a small area, such as a cubicle\nThe ability to operate phones and computers\n\nBenefits\nWe strive to offer an environment that provides our employees with the right balance between work and family.
