From cultural offerings and concerts to festivals.ResponsibilitiesJOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Mechanic/Technician (Day Shift) is responsible for ensuring the proper performance of the equipment.Responsibilities And DutiesThe primary responsibilities and duties of a Mechanic include:Assumes personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adheres to all safety policies/procedures and incorporates safety and health in all job duties/tasksAdheres to safe work practices, follows GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or foods safety/quality to management immediatelyAttends and actively participates in daily safety meetingsMonitors line efficiency and performs maintenance activities related to sustaining productivityTroubleshoots electrical/mechanical problems for processing equipment, which includes peelers, washers, cutting equipment, cooking equipment, combination scales, horizontal packaging machines (HFFS), fillers, case erectors, tapers, and codersUnderstands operations of building and grounds maintenancePerforms adjustments and repairs on the utility systems such as 125# steam, air supply, swamp coolers, etc.Reads and understands blueprintsCommunicating all process inefficiencies, equipment malfunctions, safety concerns and GMP issues to the Maintenance Supervisor and applicable Line LeadOperate SAP computer system as well as other basic computer programsPerforms accurate parts receiving, organization, use and allocation functions in SAPAccurately documents maintenance activities utilizing computer-based maintenance tracking systemReport to management any conditions of practices that may adversely affect foods safety, food quality, or personal safetyMust be able to work at heights using sufficient fall protection and/or fall prevention.Perform other duties as assignedQualificationsEDUCATION:Associate degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience preferred.ExperienceCombination of a minimum of 2 years in the following industries as a Maintenance Mechanic, Technician, or Trainee:Food Processing preferredMilitary service in a technical rating, MOS, or AFSCIndustrial Maintenance Trade SchoolFormal work experience may be substituted with completion of a vocational/shop program and demonstrated aptitude. Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors, or employees of the organization.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.Licenses, Certificates, RegistrationsFood Handler’s Permit, Clark County Health Department (within 60 days of hire)Other Skills And AbilitiesAbility to read, write and speak EnglishLead by exampleGood communication skillsSelf-motivatedAbility to effectively work with others in a team environmentPossess a basic knowledge of the processing, packaging, and material handling equipment Possess a basic knowledge of the utilities in the plant and be able to maintain the equipment One (1) year experience (preferred) in industrial electrical troubleshooting Basic knowledge of Freon refrigeration systems (if applicable), ammonia refrigeration systems (if applicable), welding and torch cutting, waste treatment equipment, which includes centrifuges, clarifiers, dewatering equipment, and pumps Knowledge of SAP softwareCertified Forklift and Scissor Lift Operator (or the ability to pass certification within 60 days of hire)The pay range for this position is $20.91 to $28.05 per hour.
